These rear projection TVs are absolutely useless. Go and check them out in a store. You can't see the picture unless you are staring dead straight at the screen and at the same level. Their lamps (they are basically like a projector emitting the picture on the plastic front screen) have a very limited life span and are very costly to replace. Avoid............

agreed - there are some good ones but theres no point blowing £97 for junk so check it out in person firsts.
  • didnt some guy on some other thread say that if the price ends in -97 its just a sale item going thru a sequence of reductions automatically. the system doesnt stop even when the items are long sold out

About as limited as plasma. Not quite as bad for screen burn (but not much better either).

    for £100 it's a bargain.

Sorry, but your knowledge of plasma's is completely wrong. Plasma screens last for tens of years without any degredation in picture quality and certainly do not fail like a PJ bulb.

But have a thanks anyway for the most original/oddest name I've seen in a long time!

In store, you're absolutely right. Because in store, they have harsh lighting, the screen sin't correctly set up, the source is horrendous and about a million other factors.

I set up my brothers rear projection unit and it is crisp, clear and a superb TV. I am just gutted I have nowhere to put one of these as I'd buy one in a flash.

  • It's certainly a great price (if any actually exist), these were far more expensive as little as 3 months ago...
