Of course she should repay you - every time!
How else are you gong to teach her to honour her word and to treat you with resepct?

    Let her have her strop.
You can rebut it by telling her that it is all fine, if she doesn;t want to repay you as there will not be a next time when you will buy her something she feels she needs but does not have the money for - either with her, or at all.

Be more lenient??? You are already being too lenient!

She entered into an oral contract with you. She agreed at the time of purchase to pay half.
She should be kept to it.
Strops dont last forever.... she'll get over it!

And when she is 40 with a teenager of her own, she will remember the lesson learnt and do the same with her daughter.

Stick with it and build for the future!

I should add though, that when she pays up and not begrudgingly, then on the odd occasion, I will actually give her back the money. It's not done regularly, but it's my way of saying thank you for keeping to your word.

She doesn't expect me to do it, but is obviously delighted when it happens!
