MOT Failed - Garage Couldnt Repair It?

            “Additional stop lamps:
Any additional stop lamps fitted and connected must be tested. Where extra lamps are fitted and there is doubt as to whether they are connected, the benefit of this doubt should be given to the presenter”
So if it’s not working because it’s not connected then PASS but if it’s not working because the bulb is blown then FAIL. What about a missing rather than blown bulb? Does that count as not connected?
As testers can’t dismantle to check wiring I’d be tempted to tell them it’s not connected.
I read " Additional " to mean fitted after manufacture.
This is a third high level brake light that was factory fitted, that is my take on it, as such it should be working.0

Would additional not be classed as over and above the legal requirement?0

His car could then explode as it ploughs into a school full of special needs kids. which could fall over as it burned destroying a hospital and an old folks home. the smoke could then blind a large airliner it it could lose control and fly into Buckingham palace killing her Majesty and it would be all the OPs fault.

I do recall one of OH's family put their car through it's MOT and the brake light on the rear spoiler didn't work (it was a rather chav-tastic car ) but because the spoiler (and therefore the light) was an 'extra' they didn't have to fix it for the MOT. I believe they were told that if the light had been factory fitted it would have had to be working. Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession ) but because the spoiler (and therefore the light) was an 'extra' they didn't have to fix it for the MOT. So take it to a garage. Around here, that'd have you pulled by Plod, a FPN issued, points on your licence and a vehicle rectification notice issued as well.
I have already said, if you actually read it, i foudn the brake light wasnt working last week, i work Monday to Saturday so cannot get to any garage other than this kwik fit and they were fully booked until saturday - hence why i went kwik fit and why i waited until saturday. I didnt realise a garage was unable to fix certain cars.
And as for expecting it free, i dont know who you think you are to be so rude but believe me i did not expect it for free. Obviously your parents have never taught u any manners - and they are free, perhaps you should look into them. I cudnt care less how much it cost as long as it was fixed, but they wudnt fix it. Kwik Fit said they dont know how, and Halfords and two other garages I rang, where my sister and bro took their car said they dont fix them incase they break. So i dont really care how 'easy' it apparently is to replace, but if they wont do it, how am i expected to no.
Just because cars are your 'specialty' doesnt mean everyone else knows as much as u do.
Got the retest for free anyway so point of post is done with.BCT:[strike]£16,500 [/strike] £0 HFC CURRYS: [strike]£520[/strike] £0 HFC PC WORLD: [strike]£800[/strike] £0 ARGOS CARD: [strike]£795[/strike] £0 ADDITIONS DIRECT: [strike]£625[/strike] £0 NATIONWIDE CC: [strike]£1560[/strike] £0 VIRGIN CC: [strike]£1500[/strike] £0 :j0

Did they automaticly retest it for free or did you have to point out the flaw in their previous logic?0

This is clearly plagiarised from a joint Major Incident Exercise scenario as it is absolutely typical of one, although you did leave out the looters and terrorists taking advantage of the situation. Are you a Local Authority Emergency Planning Officer?0

The OP deserves it. Claims they can't find anyone locally to replace the bulbs - what a load of tosh. More like they couldn't find anyone who'd fit it for free.
And as for the poor sod that'd run into the back of the OP, I can guarantee you that the OPs insurance wouldn't pay out.
So can I, but it has !!!!!! all to do with whether the brake lights work or not, fact. I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button. I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
