I have read somewhere, according to anonymous survey, reasonable number of people acknowledge that they have done crime like do nor pay TV license.
I do not say that people in this forum or in this thread do not pay TV license ......:j
I also think the best thing to do is by ignoring them.

The topic of whether one requires a television licence for simply owning a television set comes up again and again and again.
YOU DO NOT REQUIRE A LICENCE FOR OWNING A TELEVISION, ONLY FOR RECEIVING TELEVISION AS IT IS BROADCAST. You do not require a television licence to watch DVDs, play XBox games, monitor CCTV and the like. However, if you do not own a television, but watch or record TV as it is broadcast on any other device, including PCs or mobile phones, then a licence is required.
If bits of the Communication Act 2003 are taken in isolation, then it might appear that a licence is required for simply owning a television. However when the relevant definitions in this act, and the Communications (Television Licensing) Regulations 2004 acts are read alongside this, it is clear that a TV licence is not required. Both the BBC and Television Licencing (although they are the same people) also make this clear.
Please see this post here off the Praise and Vents board which explains this in detail.

As an aside ......I wonder if the recently announced freeze on TV licence cost (and the "austerity" drive at BBC) is going to lead to a fresh "purge" on non licensed households to raise revenue???0

A simple answer.... NO!!
The BBC are bullies, attacking those who cannot afford a their licence (poor & vunerable) - those living below the poverty line are supposed to pay EXACTLY the same as billion/millionaires. Anyway, what right do the BBC have to FORCE people to pay to watch a TV that they've purchased themselves & paid for the electric to run it?!
When the BBCTV Licence first came out, the BBC was the only TV channel to watch, now there is so much choice out there & the BBC are saying "You have no choice" GET A LICENCE, well their bullying didn't wash with me... I cancelled my direct Debit over 2 yrs ago & voila nothing happened (bar some stupid BBC demand letters that I've ignored). My friend has so far been 15 yrs without a BBC TVLicence... simples
If you get demands from the BBC with your name on, don't open it & write on the envelope 'no contract, return to sender', then pop it in the postbox. The next demand you get will not have your name on, it will say 'The legal occupier' & you're home & dry, just make sure to never converse with them. If you get a knock at your door & it's a BBCTVL bully, just shut the door, they cannot force entry, they do NOT have police powersCustomer Services - what a joke!0 -
Good advice. Do not let them bully you. Do not let them enter your property to see whether you have TV or not.
They burden to proof that you are breaking the law is on them not you.

See this http://jonathanmiller.wordpress.com/tag/tv-licence/
He lost his case but raised the issue to new heights back then. http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2003/jul/16/broadcasting.bbc
As stated, nicking unemployed women is easy. Taking on an educated person who simply won't let them in is largely a non starter for their Gestapo.0 -
just used the contact form on the tvl website to send this
Why do you print lies on your website? surely this is against the law, your detector vans do not actually work, and if they did it would be illegal to use them without a search warrant.
Your website is misleading as it states "tv licensing" as opposed to your correct name "capita plc", and if it is illegal watch live tv without a licence as you claim, why is it only the BBC who claim this? This is just revenue generation for the BBC, a sham tax, if you think we should pay for it, then it should be encrypted like other broadcasters.
We currently have a licence, only because my wife is frightened of your lies and propoganda, if i can convince her not to pay i will join the many who choose to rebel against your illegaland immoral charge
wonder what the reply will be?:A R.I.P. Dave "Simmo" Stimpson.....:AA friend, A Gentleman, and a Damn good pool player. You will be missedone in prison, not long enough0 -

It's an act of parliament which gives the right to raise revenue in this way. You can argue that there are better ways to do it including collecting the money in a different way or making the BBC commercial but the comment above is just fatuous0 -
BBC is also watched around the world.
Why do only we in the UK need to pay for it ? We are subsidising the interantional audience ...

In many countries, BBC is a commercial venture and is sold either as part of a subscription package or carries adverts, which means the viewers are indirectly paying for it by increased prices in advertised goods, in the same way we indirectly pay for ITV here.
Unfortunately we don't have that choice here in the UK. If we want to watch a rivals output, we have to pay the BBC regardless of whether we want it or not. A bit like having to pay Tescos to be allowed to show in Asda.
Whilst I am happy to contribute something towards public service broadcasting, IMO the BBC has grown too big, and therefore too expensive. It is also now ratings chasing which has resulted in (a) BBC dumbing down and going for the lowest common denominator and (b) squeezing commercial broadcasters who are unable to compete against the bottomless moneypits of the BBC.0
