TV licence query

if it meant not paying a license at all i would forgo a tv for the brief time i am home!!--its only 4 weeks and i get out and about and the 120 quid odd would come in useful!!--sounds like i have to do it whilst in the uk unless someone knows a direct number to the tv licensing??

If you watch live TV online you DO require a licence.

i actually have held off stopping cancelling my license payment over the years i have lived abroad because i listened to the bbc radio (2) and feel some sort of 'need' to pay my license!!!

No you don't, you only need a licence if you watch (or record) content as it is being broadcast.

i tried to cancel my licence but it requires some kind of termination at address confirmation?? i own it but live abroad

I always thought you had to have a tv licence (even just a black n white) If you had an appliance that recieved BBC/FM signals??

A computer/laptop does doesn't it?:cool:

You need to be covered by a valid TV Licence if you watch or record TV as it's being broadcast. This includes the use of devices such as a computer, laptop, mobile phone or DVD/video recorder

You have to be watching broadcasts to be liable.
