Getpoundsback are doing cashback on this now.
I cashed in £30 no problem.

Thanks for this. This is EXACTLY what I have been looking for :T

I have £70 on a PAYG sim that I thought would be wasted.

    Brilliant.

With getpoundsback cashback, do you have to pay anything more than the £5 or £10 for the cost of the text? Or is the total cost just the whole £10/£5?

Also, does it really take 95 days to get the payment?

I have used getpoundsback with various odd SIM cards lying about with credit on them. The service takes either the whole £10 or £5 and nothing else. Which is good when you are forced to buy a £10 or £20 top up at mobile phone shops these days.

Cashback usually takes that long anyway when you purchase things online. I think of it as a bonus as otherwise I would have to waste the call credit on frivolous calls.
  • You can use fastecurrency website to buy liberty reserve usd and then sell it for cash. That is the quickest way to get money out of mobile credits.

    betnow has closed now unfortunately
also jamster aren't on quidco anymore

looks like getpoundsback is the best way, although you only 60%(ish) back and it takes 3 months!

unless anyone has anything better..? (he says in hope!)

its 60% because the mobile network take a huge cut - there is no way round this

onebip is a possible alternative for a slightly higher percentage (apparently 69% in the UK) but I cannot recommend them due to the nasty withdrawal restrictions - it looks like your balance has to be 200 euros before they will allow a withdrawal to occur AND you have to have had at least one payment from another onebip user rather than just topups

Thanks, I had a look at onebip but as well as the 31% 'carrier' charge, they take a 10% cut themselves as well, so getpoundsback looks better. That is before any withdrawal issues.
I was a bit sceptical about getpoundsback before I saw this thread, but I guess if any of the people here that have used them had had any problems they would've said.
Does seem the way to go for now. I'm a bit gutted still about betnow! They were my plan...

They only take 10% on payments to other users not on topups (just for the record)
  • It's a shame that 'GetPoundsBack' don't accept Lebara credit! I have 4 each with £10 on them that i got for free and im not going to use so getting the £6 back in cash for £10 credit they are offering would have been a good deal!
