I also asked this on hotukdeals and someone suggested a betting site called betnow.com. It's £3 a bet and it comes out of your payg balance. You can withdraw any winnings to a bank aco!!!! or credit card (can't remember which). I've placed 6 bets so far and am about £1 up but I'm just trying to break even. I thought this was a great idea, loads of people did it with the balances from their O2 goals SIM promotion if you read about that.
I want to burn some Sim credit.

Do I have to register with BetNow on my PC first, before I use texts to bet?
..or do I have to go on the BetNow site from my phone to register?

No, I think you can place your first bet without registering.

convert it back into cash via quidco
sign into your quidco account then search for jamster
search for a music track you fancy then click on single purchase(bottom right hand corner of screen) and enter mobile number and follow instructions.
you dont have to download the track if you dont want to
it costs £1.50 plus one text message charge per download and quidco gives you back £1.80
Can I download anything from the Jamster site, or does it have to be a music track?

Will I then get 50p (amount has changed on Quidco) cashback per download from jamster.. or is it a 50p 'one off'?

  • Do not touch Betnow You will lose far more than 15% of your money - the odds are terrible.
  • In the end I had a lot of problems with betnow but not because of the admittedly rubbish odds

Basically as soon as you start trying to register multiple mobile numbers (i.e. because you have multiple PAYG sims with small amounts of credit) they shut you down

I managed to register 2 accounts (the second after a lot of hassle from them) but as soon as I tried for a third they cut me off from their service

In retrospect I should just have ported the first mobile number I registered with betnow onto each sim with credit instead so I suggest anybody wanting to try betnow with multiple sims do this to save a lot of grief

The rubbish odds are neither here nor there really as the objective is to convert a reasonable amount of mobile credit directly into cash & this is the easiest way to do it - AFAIAA all the other methods of cashing in involve relying cashback awards

At a guess the reason the odds are bad is probably because the mobile networks taking quite a large cut of the cost of the premium texts to betnow

Personally I am now waiting for https://www.onebip.com to implement their paypal withdrawal facility which looks like you will be able to get back 69% of your mobile credit in a very straighfoward fashion
( I suspect all the major mobile operators may prevent access to onebip at some point because of this)

p.s. the jamster rate have now changed so you dont get all the mobile credit converted to cashback

    shame

    So far I have used a combination of www.betnow.com , www.voipgain.com & http://www.topcashback.co.uk/jamster_great_britain

the first gives you cash, the second gives you very cheap calls over the internet (eg 3p per minute to mobiles) & the last *used* to give you cashback worth more than the mobile credit

Anyone find any other ways to withdraw money? So far i'm thinking Betnow is the best method, even though i forced myself to stop betting after getting a little out of control

I've read some negative things about Onebip in the way of people getting spam messages right after signing up.

In regards to betnow, i have £9 i want to withdraw from 1 sim, so i need to bet 3 times right? After you bet via phone, how do you collect your winnings (assuming you win), do you create an account? Or do you need to have an account already created before you bet?

I don't have an account with them, but I've never heard about "3 times". I guess you can just withdraw.

Loads of information here: Betnow £50 for £100 bet?

    icon4.gifEDIT: Betnow doesn't exist anymore. icon4.gif

I think text betting is limited to £3 per text.
