"but it is only by working with organisations like UKCPS that we have any chance of improving the situation for disabled people"

I can only assume this was typed as UKCPS sat by her ready to sign a big fat cheque. Does she really believe they give a ****.

Whilst I can sympthise with the charity in that there is a problem with non disabled drivers using disabled bays, if they want real change they need to deal with those we vote for and not those who slip them a few quid every year.

Edited having clicked the link on the Mobilise website - it does not make for good reading:

Maybe they can be linked to this post http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showtopic=53522&pid=492485&st=0&#entry492485
Where the ppc clamped and towed a Blue badged car and then (presumably)rocked the car until the badge fell in the footwell so they can say its a valid clamp/tow. Utter scum. And they want to be associated with the likes of this.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

Thank you for your email concerning Mobilise’s collaboration with the parking company UKCPS. We are well aware that there are problems within the private parking sector but it is only by working with organisations like UKCPS that we have any chance of improving the situation for disabled people. One of our reasons for working with these companies is because we are able to help educate them and their staff on Blue Badge and disability issues.

As you may be aware when you park in a private car park you have agreed to abide by certain rules and this is part of contract law. Therefore if it says only Blue badge holders in specific bays and you park there without a badge you would probably get a ticket. We can not dictate to companies like UKCPS how they should run their business but by working with them we can have a small amount of influence over how they deal with people who get a ticket.

One of your complaints is that the appeal is just an internal appeal and like you I believe that is wrong too. The British Parking Association also want there to be an independent appeals service which is similar to the service you receive if you get a ticket on the public highway. It is possible that this change will be brought in in the not to distant future.

In future if you get a parking ticket do give us a call as by working with these organisations we may be able to help you.

I hope I have helped you understand why Mobilise is now working with organisations like UKCPS.

    Kind regards,

    Helen Dolphin
    Director of Policy and Campaigns

One assumes I can also form a contract with Helen through email, issue her with a 'ticket', and charge her for 'abiding by my rules.'

I'm thinking £10 for each letter 'e' she uses in her email reply.

Agreed, but being a charity they need to be very careful with the types of "friends" they associate themselves with.

Benefitting from potentially unlawful/illegal activity isn't good for any charity.

Proceeds of Crime Act immediately springs to mind.

I've been away for a few days and, as yet, have not replied to Helen Dolphin's email. But I will. The half-truths and quasi-legal nonsense cannot go unchallenged. She needs to consult a a real expert in contract law and the Blue-badge scheme, and not be misled by the PPC. The charity is going down a very dodgy road by associating themselves with UKCPS.

Has anyone else written to Mobilise? If so, have they replied?
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

Hey that is bit unfair Coupon-Mad. Its is a well known and easily-proven fact that at least one pie shop owner needs an extra large space just to park his ego and butt let alone a car!
Still waiting for Parking Eye to send the court summons! Make my day!

If you still think hes a lawyer then have a look for yourself:

    lawsociety.org.uk/choosingandusing/findasolicitor.law

Type in David Keates and NOTHING .. and the reason why ... HE IS NOT A LAWYER !!!

He doesn't claim to be a lawyer. I would remind you however that that site lists practising SOLICITORS. It doesn't list barristers, QC's or judges, but they are still lawyers.

Not only that, but a solicitor can opt out of the public register. So not finding someone's name on there means nothing.

    Wrong

The 'ticket' in completely unenforceable - My advice is to ignore it :)
