Contact the Chief Executive and cc any correspondence to the board of Trustees - details of the first post, outline the law and offer them assistance free of charge to extracate themselves from this tie up.

Whilst charities do need money, they have articles of association outlining what they do and don't do and what is and isn't acceptable in terms of sponsorship. I doubt Acoloholics Anonymous would take money off a beer company and this company shouldn't be associated with PPCs - it legitimises the scam even more, as the first post demonstrates.

I have had involvement with charities and at all times they need to be whiter than white. Associating yourself with a PPC could put them into disrepute and a Charity Commission investigation isn't what any of them want.

    I'm on there now!

I wonder who wrote all that rubbish on their Baywatch pages. Could it be somebody from UKCPS?

They need to be aware of the government regulations in this area, clearly Mobilise has been listening to the rubbish from the PPC instead of researching this area themselves, what kind of charity is this giving out so much wrong information?

Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

It will be interesting to see what Mobilise have to say for themselves if and when they respond to the various messages sent to them over the UKCPS saga, and the wider question of blue badges in private car-parks. There could be some time to wait though. When I emailed them on enquiries@mobilise.info I received an automated reply from a Janet Moore saying :-

I'm out of the office now until Monday 16 August. Urgent emails will be picked up in my absence. I will deal with the others as soon as possible on my return.

I have now received an answer from Mobilise. I think they have been brainwashed by the PPC:-

Thank you for your email concerning Mobilise’s collaboration with the parking company UKCPS. We are well aware that there are problems within the private parking sector but it is only by working with organisations like UKCPS that we have any chance of improving the situation for disabled people. One of our reasons for working with these companies is because we are able to help educate them and their staff on Blue Badge and disability issues.

As you may be aware when you park in a private car park you have agreed to abide by certain rules and this is part of contract law. Therefore if it says only Blue badge holders in specific bays and you park there without a badge you would probably get a ticket. We can not dictate to companies like UKCPS how they should run their business but by working with them we can have a small amount of influence over how they deal with people who get a ticket.

One of your complaints is that the appeal is just an internal appeal and like you I believe that is wrong too. The British Parking Association also want there to be an independent appeals service which is similar to the service you receive if you get a ticket on the public highway. It is possible that this change will be brought in in the not to distant future.

In future if you get a parking ticket do give us a call as by working with these organisations we may be able to help you.

I hope I have helped you understand why Mobilise is now working with organisations like UKCPS.

    Kind regards,

Perhaps the Alcoholics Anonymous, and sponsorship by Guinness type of example above should be posed to Mobilise. Oh and maybe the video with the lawyer on Watchdog making a paper aeroplane out of one.

10 out of 10 to Helen Dolphin for managing to type all of that whilst having her head buried in the sand.
  • Oh dear I think that someone is covering her backside after making a big mistake. Helen, put down your copy of Perky Law for Dummies and deal with facts.
Still waiting for Parking Eye to send the court summons! Make my day!
