The council there say they could save £94k a year what they really mean is they can make £94k a year. As they are not losing anything except the price a non disabled driver would be paying. By charging disabled at the pay and display will just move them to SYL or DYL were they can legally park, but may cause congestion. Seems a silly idea to me.

    Left a comment!

"Its a pity Helen Dolphin seems to have double standards, her charity has joined up with a private parking company who regularly charge disabled drivers!"

Do you think they will post it?

can anyone please please help me, i parked in a disabled bay on a car park in brierley hill west midlands, this car park had a few years before been owned by the council, i recently gained my blue disability badge so am new to parking where i like, ( with my disability badge i can park on council pay & display without paying ) but i thought in a disabled bay i would be ok, i did not know it was a private car park. when i received my first ticket i sent e mail explaining why i thought i didnt have to pay a fee, and i was also worried that i would have more tickets issued ( as i had used this car park a few times over three months ) i have now had three, i told Excel i could not pay the £180 thay asked for but they said if i didnt pay in 7 days i would have to pay £300. i sent them all my financial details and they have agreed to let me pay at £20 a month, but after reading all the posts on here i dont think i should, but i dont want to be taken to court, or have bailiffs knockin my door. can anyone please give me advice. my first payment is due this week 1st Dec

Here is another one Mobilise PPC, what say you now that they are trying to scam people out of their DLA by offering credit services probably without a consumer credit licence, this kind of behaviour is what you have jumped into bed with!
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?
  • If I remember correctly, a company can accept up to three installments to pay off a once only debt without a licence. What they cannot do is allow the debt to increase, ie put more 'on the slate'. Legal experts- please correct me if I am wrong.
Still waiting for Parking Eye to send the court summons! Make my day!

Mobilise have now teemed up with yet another PPC. This time with the [TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM] name of "District Enforcement". I like their statement :- "We’re promising 100 per cent litigation against offenders wherever possible" . So how are they going to do that if they cannot ascertain the identity of the driver? [TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM]

    This from their website:-
If the charge is not paid within the allowed period

We will write to the DVLA to obtain the current keeper's details, and typically we will send a letter to the keeper reminding them that payment is due, prior to the time limit expiring.

Failure to pay the amount within the time limit will mean the charge will be passed to our litigation team. This may result in additional administration charges being applied to the original charge. Our litigation team will send a "Letter Before Action" giving the keeper 14 days to settle the debt before escalation. Failure to settle the debt in this additional phase will result in the matter being pursued through County Court, or being passed on to a Debt Recovery Agent.

    Indeed so.
And Mobilise have failed to see it. Such lack of diligence should not go unpunished.

    More from their website:-

Unlike the chains of generic letters sent to offending motorists by our competitors, we treat every parking infringement on a case by case basis and take into account the range of circumstances before deciding on the most appropriate legal remedy, which can include pre-action protocols followed by county court litigation and an application to the court to compel the registered keeper to provide the driver's details where necessary.

"Using specialised legal methods we will enforce the charge against the offender."

    Really?

    I do wonder how.

"an application to the court to compel the registered keeper to provide the driver's details where necessary"

I would love to know how they do that??
