I was sorry to hear about your father's incident at the B&Q car park which led to a parking fine.
Private car parks operators are governed by the Contract Law which requires motorists entering private car parks to abide by their terms and conditions in this case UKCPS'. Any car park managed by the UKCPS requires all the vehicles parked in disabled parking spaces to display a valid Blue Badge. Failure to display the badge will result in issuing a parking fine.
In your father's case there was a chain of events and unfortunately a parking fine was issued. You will need to satisfy the parking operator that this incident did occur by providing evidence such as reference of the logged incident with the insurance company, reference of your complaint at the B&Q customer service desk, as well photographic or CCTV evidence etc.
All tickets must have an issue date, however, colour of the car which was wrongly described on the ticket may not be good enough reason for cancellation of the ticket.
Kind regards

Dear God - are these people for real?
What utter nonsense.
Is there no one who works for them with any knowledge or at least a conscience?0 -

This letter is from Mobilise and states that the date must be on it ???
How strange that the letters we have recived form UKCPS say they don't, as they don't even have to issue a ticket - merely send a notice through the post ???
errr....
Would that not have to have the date on also ?
If not, when does the clock start for the 14 day countdown ???
Do you choose your own ??
My Dad, aged 78, said he will choose 31st December 2050 as he doubt's he will be here then !!!
Bloody fools ...
I will quote this IF we ever get taken to court .... and made by the judge to tell him who the driver was ???
And they keep getting the colours of the cars wrong ? WHY ?
If they are writing the ticket there and then - why the error ?
Maybe you have to be of nil intelligence to work for UKCPS ??
That seems to be answer me thinks !
Have a great day before someone louses it up for you !0 -
I don't know why people are so surprised a parking company has joined forces with an organisation purporting to have a charitable purpose who publish their own magazine ripe for propaganda dissemination.0

Over on the CAG forum somebody has just posted this reply from Mobilise. This is the complaint the driver made to Mobilise:-
"I wonder if you have approached (or would be happy to approach) UKCPS regarding their way of 'dealing' with the fact that they continue to harass and intimidate disabled people in this way. I forgot to put my blue badge in the window of my car, and appealed against the 'fine'. My appeal letter has been ignored and they are going to continue to frighten and intimidate me by sending me threatening letters.
I feel this is discrimination against disabled people.
What do you think?"
And this is Mobilise's reply:-
We are in contact with UKCPS and all the complains and concerns have been passed on to them. But as I said earlier we cannot dictate how they choose to run their business. Their parking contract (which you have entered by parking on the property managed by UKCPS) would be stated that: if a vehicle is parked in a disabled space without displaying a valid Blue Badge then they are most likely to issue a parking ticket. These are the rules so I do not see this as a discrimination. They would act in the same manner regardless if the person was disabled or not.
However, I do sympathise with you that you feel penalised by forgetting displaying your badge. It is a costly mistake indeed.
All I can suggest is that if you decide to take up the offer from UKCPS and become a member of Mobilise then when you receive a parking ticket in the future we will be able to help or offer you advice.
And we all know what that advice would be:- "pay up, so we can keep our cosy relationship with UKCPS"
Truly shocking.What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -

Unbelievable. I'd be interested to know on what basis they think they are qualified to provide advice to anyone. They could find themselves coming unstuck if someone in effect pays them for advice that is so completely wrong.0 -

But Mobilise know full well that the bluebadge scheme does not apply in private car parks, are they just plainly stupid, or plainly greedy ?trisontana wrote: »These are the rules so I do not see this as a discrimination. Of course its discrimination, you can be disabled without a bluebadge, actually you can have a blue badge without being disabled, as reported 50% of these badges are out there for the lazy!trisontana wrote: »However, I do sympathise with you that you feel penalised by forgetting displaying your badge. Its not costly as well we know by simply ignoring the scamming gits!trisontana wrote: »All I can suggest is that if you decide to take up the offer from UKCPS and become a member of Mobilise then when you receive a parking ticket in the future we will be able to help or offer you advice.
And here is the unethical part, you get a discount off your ticket if you join them, its despicable behaviour, they are as desperate for your money as the scammers! And what bloody advice will they offer in future? We know what advice to offer, ignore the scammers, that is it for free!trisontana wrote: »Truly shocking.
I agree!Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
Ok, lighthearted I know & I'm mixing-up a couple of threads here, but I've just had this random thought of Flipper & HJ possibly being an item.
On a serious note to Mobilise & in particular Flipper, you have brought your organisation into total disrepute & damaged it's reputation & cause beyond repair. At first I thought you were just being naive, but I've altered my opinion radically which is unprintable.
You should be dismissed from your post in disgrace asap.0 -
Just to put the record straight, that email I received from Mobilise (post#168) was from "Marta Bartosiewicz - Information Officer & Photo Editor for Mobilise Magazine".
She's as bad as Ms. Dolphin.What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
Given that Helen Dolphin has gone national with her stunning ignorance (the Daily Mail article) I think it is safe to assume that everyone at Mobilise has been brainwashed by her following her conversion to PPC Supporter.0
