Good evening guys and gals,
Hope you're all behaving yourselves
I've had a good day.
After going to bed just before 12 last night (early for me!) I was up at 7am.
After lying in bed worrying about my lack of money / debt, I decided that it's high time to do something about it.
After shower and breakfast, I forced myself out (even though I didn't want to go out) into town at about 9.30am and -
Went to my Doctor's and picked up my 'Fit Note' and Prescription (for beta blockers).
Then called in to a local 'gaming centre' type place (fruit machines and the like) who had a job advertised (c rap money / not my kind of place, but it's a job!) - had a chat with the ladies in there, and took away a form to complete.
Apparently the job is only 17 hours, and is temporary as it's just to cover one of their colleagues who's off sick.
Need to find out where I stand re benefits etc due to it being temp, but it's a possibility.
I then came home and found another job online - a driving job - permanent, better money and full time. Manager was meant to call me back, but didn't so I'll call again tomorrow. All good.
Called up about a third job (driving again - part time), to no avail, so I'll need to call again tomorrow.
Phoned up Money Shop and established exactly what their procedure is re 'extending' the loan by another month - got the figures and I've now made a positive decision as to sorting it out, and clearing it within the next 6 weeks (I'll be skint / pretty stressed, but it will be doable with some extra money coming my way, in the shape of the DWP Budgeting Loan, so there is light at the end of the tunnel)
Then went to a local 'Furniture Scheme' with my Girlfriend and put a deposit on a sofa there (£40 and it's in very good nick - my sofa is on it's last legs).
I then went to the Substance Misuse Team for my appointment with my Alcohol Support Worker, with GF - 'twas the best appointment I've EVER had there. My Girlfriend was very helpful, objective and my Support Worker was a star.
She'll now be visiting me at home from now on, and after us telling her how bad things had been (financially / emotionally / physically etc due to the boozing) will be putting in an application for rehab asap. She'll be coming to mine next time, in two weeks time which I'm over the moon about.
Scrumptious Fish and Chips were then enjoyed, and I've had a quiet, relaxing evening on my tod with the paper.
I've written down all of the positive stuff I achieved earlier too, so when I do get down again I'll have some perspective.
This is the last time I'll be wittering on here now (phew I hear you say..), as I'll be starting a diary (on MSE) of me sorting out my Life!
Felt great today to make some positive changes.
Big Hugs to all of ya who need them.
Night night,
Sim x0 -

That's all we needed to hear sim. I'm delighted for you. Well done on forcing yourself out and getting things done. Hopefully something will come of one of the jobs but as you managed to find three possibles in one day then something's bound to work out soon. Have a good night's sleep and good luck with your diary.0 -
Well done Jo's DD :T
Struggling today, not about being AF, just not feeling right, been browisng the web to try to find help and contemplated calling my GP. However I know I have all the tools to get better and all I really need is a bit time and few early nights.
Anyway on a way home ended walking past this pharmacy, saw some books there, went in, found a book that might just give the answers I have been looking for. It is called: "How to get what you want and want what you have".
So going to put all the staff that needs doing on one side for tonight and have a bath with my new book and then straight to bed.
Oh is someone is still keeping scores: challenge completed
What more books marru:rotfl:Sorry to hear you're feeling down but well done on the challenge and hope you feel more positive soon (after you've read your book).0 -

Seriously matey big hugs to you and I hope that life is going well for you and your lovely family? Budgie thinks that another mid life crisis event is needed here;) As Mr Budgie said to me: "We are two thirds through our life".................
I wonder what made Mr Budgie say that? And are you sure his maths isn't a bit shaky?
Hopefully your cold is much improved and you are getting back to your old self. Are you still in quarantine budgie?
Tonight's been a bit shaky, started to feel very bad tempered earlier. DH offered me a drink but I didn't fancy one and I don't think it would have helped. However I'm over it now.
10AF please DB0 -

Well - family member is driving me nuts if truth be known :rotfl:I think I've been hanging around on MSE too long. I just don't to understand other people's attitudes to money any more:cool: BUT she didn't drive me to drink so that's a good start:jWhat do we do when we fall? Good morning all!
Sim, very well done on your positive steps to a better life mate
Marru, that book sounds interesting, let us know if its any good. Hope things improve love xx
Budge, ignore Mr B, you are still in your prime
Lurkioio, what's happening then? Are you going to be farmer lurks?
Morning shaggy
Hello to everyone else.
Thanks to all for DD1s congrats xx
Lots of pondering has been going on here, I've decided I need to 'man up' (girl style) and sort my life out. I've not been AF here on hols and have drunk far too much really but one positive is that its been social drinking and not secretive drinking so that is one thing I am pleased about as that's my biggest problem with my addiction.
I do however need to stop as from tomorrow I will be at home and have no excuse to drink anymore. I can't make any promises today but even though I will be drinking, I won't go overboard as I have to drive home tomorrow. We will be going somewhere locally for the day so won't be driving home till later in the afternoon.
My OH said something to me yesterday which made me think. We were sat on the beach and I said I was going to go to the seafood bar and buy some cockles. He said to me that all I think about is eating and sleeping. Which when you look at it from his perspective I guess he's right. I plan what I'm going to cook early in the day because I enjoy cooking and I go to bed early every night because I have usually had a drink and can't stay awake. That's quite boring huh? I have no spontaneity (sp?). So from today I am going to enjoy life a little more. I have picked the right day as we are going to a theme park today  I'm usually the one that holds the coatsbut today I might push the boat out and go on some rides, I will try to see life like my kids do and have some fun... Wish me luck
