So, after having a couple of drinks on Wednesday in celebration of the awful, awful boss going (official line is still that he resigned for personal and family reasons, but come on!) last night was AF again. And do you know, I didn't even miss it.

So, first week, and 3 AF days out of 4. Really pleased with myself, and feel better for it, so will continue next week - but as it's the weekend, I will be drinking!

What more books marru:rotfl:Sorry to hear you're feeling down but well done on the challenge and hope you feel more positive soon (after you've read your book).

Ok if it is sleep and food for Jo, it is books and animals for me :o

But I guess when we are searching answers to our questions then the answers seem to come in the format we are accustomed to and for me it is definitely books

I need to get in touch with Miss P and she seems to have dropped off from FB, if anyone has her email or phone (I do have her address but don't want to just appear on her doorstep) could you please be so kind and let her know that I have sent her pm. Thanks.

    Hiya
well at last lappy is back from the menders. I'm beginning to wonder just how MSE it is to keep getting it mended rather than getting a new one:(
I was so very clear that I would not have a 'putter in the house, but a few days off line and I was beginning to feel cut off from the world virtual or other wise as at work I've been on my own too(as its Aug I was the only one NOT on holiday). How times have changed!

Despite some low points a couple of times its a full 20AFDfor me please DB

Right off to catch up with every ones news

    See you later

I can't really belive it but it is true - after 10 months only drinking socially (= 2 occasions) I am back on sherry. Naughty naughty girl. I think I can "afford" third glass before ill effects tomorrow (note - didn't declare the size of the glass). BF might come here later - I have warned him.

Hi I`m fairly new to this forum but this 'giving up and cutting down on alchohol' one really caught my eye as I`ve wanted to give up for such a long time now. I gave up for 6 months last year and lost a stone in weight really quickly but I gave in at Christmas and spent the whole of Christmas P****d out my head which I hated. It wasnt enjoyable it was just that the alchohol was there so I drank it !!.
Since then I put back the stone in weight but managed to get down to a couple of drinks a day but because I work from home the first drink was getting earlier and earlier and the internal fight of 'I`m gona have a drink - I`m not gona have a drink' took up a lot of my thinking day. I knew I would get to a point like last year when I thought I`ve just got to knock it on the head completely so wether to have a drink and at what time is not even an issue. So I am alchohol free for 8 days now and I feel so healthy. The first couple of days were really really hard particularly the third but then it started getting easier. I keep thinking i`ve been here before and regretted going back on the drink and although I would love to think that this time I wont go back who knows I just may. Anyway the reason why I am rambling on at the moment is that I was watching a recorded programme of Come Dine With me and they are starting off with Rose wine and zambuca shots and I just got the biggest biggest biggest craving ever and I said to my self that when I get a big big craving for a drink I would rush on to this website and have a ramble... thats all folks

Trasi - Hi and well done for resisting and also for your 8 days AF.
Good idea to come on here and have a ramble any time you want.
Its great if it helps you!

Marru - Hugs and hope you are ok.

I'll get round to posting scores in a moment. I've had a lot of trouble with my wireless connection this week. It has been too slow to use.
Tonight it is fine. Seems completely random - so how do you go about fixing that!! Most irritating. I measured up this evening and reckon I need a 15m ethernet cable to connect the router upstairs to down here!! It would be a bit of a tripping hazard though!

Jo - Great news about your DDs A level results. It must be such a relief. I know what you mean about how hard it can be to get them to study! My DS2 did well in his AS results too so he can carry on and do the A levels. Relief here too!

I've had a quick read through and glad to see how well lots of people are doing. A big welcome to the newbies.

Not doing well myself on the Af front since my Scotland trip and upset with myself but enough said about that.

    DB x

ETA; Budgie - the spray painting of the lawn was worth it!
