Welcome thegoodlifewannabe (we'll need to shorten that!!) to the thread and well done on your 4AF nights:T. Your story is a very familiar one, so you've come to just the right place for support. The 'bells' in the evening (for me it's 6 p.m.) are something so many of us have a problem with. There are lots of tips for coping like keeping extra busy, going to bed early, treating yourself to chocolate or a special soft drink (I can hear the shouts of Vimto as I type). People on here are lovely, just ask and don't be afraid to ramble on (that's pretty typical too). Some of us set targets for the month, some have/plan to give up completely others just take it a day at a time. Stick around!
Good to hear from you jo, sounds idyllic relaxing outside the chalet. Enjoy!!
Congratulations wyndham and good luck for tonight! When I first started I was pacing around the house like a caged animal but that passed but I still find the 4th night hard for some reason. But thefeeling when you've achieved it is wonderful.
Good morning mollypolly, good to hear from you. Hope all going well on the family front.
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Well, I may not make it to 3 AF days in a row after all. Got to work this morning to find the pratt of a boss has resigned 'for personal reasons' (we all think he was pushed). There is much rejoicing here today! And I may just have a drink tonight after all in celebration!
So, next week for my 4 AF days in a row - honest!0 -
Good to see you goodlifewannabe! Hello everyone else.
I'm having a bit of a funny one. My DS is away. I get a break from him about once or twice a year and it is such a weird feeling being 'NONmum' hence I've just got up!
I keep thinking at the moment. Not bad things but thinking about one particular ex who I cant seem to get out of my head even 3 years on.
Can't really explain it. Anyway 11.30 is the target set for getting off my rse and cleaning and sorting my pit.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

Its good to see people being so positive, it made me feel better knowing i wasn't alone and that all the feelings i was having where normal- feeling caged, pacing the floor, not knowing what to do. I spent 3 months going to meetings every day, i know this is not possible for everyone but were i live there are 2 meetings most days that i could get to, not always on the doorstep but doable. As i have said AA was my lifeline. I am not so dependant on meetings now, i go about twice a week.
Its so hard to do but for me the rewards are great. My first 3 months where hell but not as bad as my last 3 months drinking. My rock bottom was something i do not want to experience again. I know just 1 drink will take me back there in no time at all, its all there waiting for me. God i feel like I've just been to a meeting!!
Have a good night all and to all that are struggling remember its 1 day at a time. You only have to go without a drink 1 DAY AT A TIME, don't project and worry about the future, today is enough!!0 -

P.S. Been out to lunch today with some very old friends and it was excellent. In the olden days we would still be there and on our [STRIKE]10th[/STRIKE] 20th bottle of wine!Living Sober.
