What a great thread!!
I am a recovering alcoholic- 1 year sober..I never let myself forget the reasons for me HAVING to give up alcohol,i really had no choice. My last drink was 8/8/2009, it took untill Jan of this year for me to feel any way normal and comfortable. My life is very different now, i had a lot of help and support from AA and i now feel it is time to try and give something back.
Just wanted to sy Hi and wish you all well. Miracles do happen, i could never imagine a life without alcohol, each day sober is a blessing, i have no long term goals, just each day as it comes..I will continue to read this thread and wish you all well.
Congratulations on your one year anniversary bagqueen. Wonderful achievement:T Keep lurking (and of course posting too).0 -
Just a quick update that I have completed day no 2 of the challenge"Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

Sorry to hear you're still feeling rough Budgie. Yes, you are on 8 because same as me:D At least we don't have fuzzy head from booze.0 -
Hope your sleep does you a bit of good sim. Hope you aren't reading this in the middle of the night though as you must try and get your body clock back in synch.
I was tempted to say go for a walk this afternoon as the situation (unsuprisingly) is making you depressed and I'm sure regular exercise and fresh air would be good. I think fay's idea of a diary is a good one too. And very well done on keeping AF and buying in some decent food. You really must boost your health (both physical and emotional) to put yourself in a position to work again. I must admit to being no expert on debt but earning money has to be an obvious way forward.
I've managed another night, fairly effortless with only mild bells earlier.
8AF please DB.
'night all and :Tto everyone else who's kept off the booze tonight.
P.S. Did anyone else watch Holby with Michael Spence pouring neat vodka down his throat. Not a pretty sight!0 -
Evening All, Well not AF last night but didn't overdo it so it's not all bad.
AF tonight though so that's
1 for the challenge and 11 for August Please XOX
Feel happier than I have done recently, for all my recent shenanigans, had a good night at work, late in but that's OK:D
Hope everyone is OK, thanks all for your kind wishes esp BB I love your posts!!!!XXX
Sim I have PMed you....
Hugs to everyone else, and wishing you all a very good night and a great day tomorrow!
Regards

PS Sim I agree with the diary idea, it has to be worth a try, also you need something which requires mental focus, to take your mind off things whizzing round your mind, but most of all you need to remember that there's a lot of folk in this world worse off than you ar I and things could be a lot worse.
You have your health and your home and your intelligence, and you will get there but you need to keep trying. It will get easier as time progresses I promise!XX0 -
Morning All:hello:
3rd AFD under my belt (that's 2 for the challenge). No bellsand it's always nice to get through day 3. It takes 3 days for nicotine to leave the body - is it the same for alcohol?
Have a great day
ShaggyWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -
