I'm back. Haven't drank at home since my daughter was born (over a month), or at all for over a week.

    Good Morning Flimsier.

Congrats to you for your Daughter, and for your sobriety!

    Cheers,

    Sim :T

The facebook/old flame dilemma, had the same situation. He is my friend but I found it almost disrespectul of him to try that line with me. 'My wife doesn't understand me'. Not happening.

On 4 AF, really didn't want to get up, so snuggly, but I guess if I don't get today started then it won't be the weekend any sooner !

Hope Friday brings better things for those struggling.

I justy don't think that getting smashed on occasion is the be all and end all no offence meant!

The point i am trying to make is if you have an eating disorder you can't say i will never eat again, so why can the same not appy to drinking?

I just think there must be a way other than complete abstinience

    Sinclair nethod anyone??

    XX

I know I'm on here for a reason, and that reason is that, on occsions, I drink far too much. And for me I don't think complete abstinence is necessary.

HOWEVER...I have a brother that is an alcoholic. So yes, I DO believe abstinence is necessary for him. Seeing as he has cirrocis (sp) of the liver, has been told to stop but can't and now we don't know where he is. last we hear, a year go, he was sleeping rough. Every time I see a headline about a body being found somewhere, I wonder if its him. Every time the phone rings late at night I wonder if its my Mum ringing to say he's dead.

So yes...abstinence IS necessary for some people. And to be honest, I don't think alcohol should be compared to food. Alcohol is NOT necessary to our survival.

Sorry to go on....and I'm not having a go at anyone...just touchy on the subject

Got a payday loan last month which is paid and will now need to get another

SSG, please don't get a payday loan, isn't there any other way you can raise some cash, look at the trouble Sim got in to with this :)

Today has been trying but alcohol is not the answer to the problem that is me. My problems would only be tenfold in the morning.

Tomorrow, I will wake up fresh, aware of what I have done and not with head wreck and remorse, way better then being smashed

:T:T:T Well done JG for resisting the urge, you are doing so well :)

I on the other hand haven't, I drank last night, just an eff it autopilot moment which I shouldn't have let happen.

Nevermind, I have just had my last early get up for the next 16 days :T and am looking forward to 4pm this afternoon when I can walk out of that place for 2 weeks :D

DB, I'm still on 4 please thanks xx

Miss P - So sorry to hear about your Brother. So sad. I hope he gets in touch and all is ok with him, with you and your family x

JeffGeorge - You're doing brilliantly! Good on ya for staying sober last night. It really isn't worth going back to, as each time it gets hardr to crawl back out again (something I read Graeme had said - so true). Go easy on yourself and talk to someone. I know how all consuming a craving can be, but maybe ride it like a wave :) x

SSG - I'm with Jo on this. Please, please, please don't get a PayDay loan! Have you got a Credit Union in your area? I know some do, some don't. Maybe worth looking into one of those? I'd hate to see you fall into the trap I'm going to be in, if I'm not careful. Go steady x

Jo - Have a cracking day at work. Knock 'em dead!

    Have a great day all.

I'm off to jobhunt. Thank the heavens that the booze is now out of my system :)

    Sim x
  • My,Judging by yesterday's posts there will be a few sore heads around this morning mine included I'm afraid. What is it about 5th August?

Anyway I vow to be sober today, maybe a 24 hour challenge is needed to concentrate the mind.

SSG Be careful. If you can have a drink and forget it then fine. If you keep overdoing it then you might have a serious problem.

Miss P So sorry to hear about your brother, his sad case shows just how dangerous alcohol can be.

Sim Don't let that cash burn a hole in your pocket. you are doing well please try to keep it that way.

Everyone else, Have a good day and try to stay sober.
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.
