  • I've just deen to the hospital to get my foot sorted, it's been nearly 2 years now and still a way to go.

SIM Yes, I have regular cravings but, I tend to give way too easily. In my case, although I acknowledge to being addicted, it is more like a habit. Around 4 in the afternoon I get the idea of drink in my head. I know I can beat it, today for instance I am totally resolute. I find that when I don't drink for a day it is a little easier the next.

So hang on in there you have company today and we will see what tomorrow brings. Do you want to join the 24 hour challenge?

Jo Looks like you and me for now but there arn't many around so far today.

I think they keep away so they don't have to read my waffle :rotfl:

  • Morning All,

    Well what to say....

I will join the challenge, i am back on the wagon now. Feeling a bit rough this morning I am a bit disappointed about last night and breaking my own rule, but I will start again today.

    Working backshift tonight.

I have been up about an hour and still have a bit of a sore head but it will pass...

    Onwards and upwards!

    Thanks

    I don't blame them! (just a joke)

SIM My local SMT is useless to. Their advice to me was don't increase my 'normal' (should be abnormal) intake.

My last referral to them last year resulted in them telling me they no longer do counselling like they used to but could offer me four 10 minute sessions (takes me nearly an hour to get there!) over four weeks. It was pretty much useless, she just kept telling me that I shouldn't drink and didn't bother asking why I do and kept looking at her watch. I was due to go on holiday on the last week so she said she'd ring me on the following Monday to do my last session and I never heard from her after that! So over 3 weeks I got 30 minutes of support. That didn't help with my daily cravings. I didn't bother going back to the GP cos his advice was, and I quote 'just don't buy it' and since then laughs and says that I would be able to drink him under the table *confused*

By the way what time did the challenge start?

I went to bed about 11pm I think.....

To add to my pain this morning I had run out of cigs, now I have been out to the shop and cna at least get a smoke, another bad habit but one thing at a time:)

What's wrong with your foot RN?

I have bunions on both of mine but they don't cause me any bother. The doc says if they start causing me pain I can get the operation, but it's 6 weeks off work! So I'll save that for when I am really stressed at work....

  • Ok that's fair enough......

Got a payday loan, as I absolutely MUST get my road tax, it has been out since the beginning of last month and I will not get away with it any longer.

At the end of the month I will either pay it back or roll it forward.

I know it's not ideal but I feel as if I don't have much choice. I am very pi55ed off with myself for taking one out last month as I feel it's now going to become an ongoing issue, but I will just have to try to manage.

Think last night little slip was a combination of things adding up.

I am not going to beat myself up about it but hopefully keep to the rule and next time deal with my craving a little better:) I would have felt a lot better if i had been out or visiting as that would have been sticking to the rule, but hey ho, i will do better next time....

Thanks to all for your supportive posts...

And on the plus side I am still likely to beat my target this month...
