I must admit that I was tempted yesterday ( not good on day 1).
We went shopping yesterday after school . We passed lots of lovely restaurants . I wanted to go on and have a meal with some wine:o.
We went to Burger King and I had a coke:)
Later in the evening I had to nip out to the Coop. DH asked me to get hom some beers:( . I bought him the beers and a bottle of...
squash for myself:j . Went to bed early and had a good nights sleep so I am very very pleased with myself:T

    Have a good day everyone.

  • Morning! 1/100 achieved.... Thanks 40SM for counting us.

Jo, I think what you did was amazing. I am sure as a recovering alcoholic he would not betray your trust. I hope that he is able to give you strength.

    Have a Happy Friday all.

Hi Everyone....how are we all doing?

384 AF days for me....wow . The odd thing is I still have to remind myself of how long its been so that I keep on the straight & narrow.

I do agree with what GC said though....I realise now that I also had to change `me` to move on from the alcohol. That was so tough...& although I am still alone in my life I have found an inner peace & I no longer need that escapism that the bottle of wine a night gave me.

What I am trying to say is that I guess now I want to remember rather than try & forget....if that makes sense.

Good luck to everyone....this is a tough journey but every journey starts with that single step....be strong & keep smiling .

    Angiexx

Makes perfect sense to me and actually bought a tear to my eye. Couldn't agree more. Well done

Can I jump onto the 100 day challenge. During that time I will celebrate my 1 year afness so would be good to stop me thinking 'I wonder if one now would hurt?'

Jo that is great news. I think telling people around you takes the power away from it if that makes sense. I'm absolutely positive it will have been a good thing to do.

Yesterday I met my old cleaner outside the shop. We always got on well (kids in same class at school) anyway upshot of it is that she is coming round with the kids for an X factor evening. She said 'We can crack a bottle' and I just said 'Feel free but I don't drink anymore' She was the one who found 2 empty half bottles of vodka behind the sofa while my mum was staying...cue awkward Q and A session from Mum (My empties not my mums!!) God that sounds awful doesn't it. So glad I'm sober!

That is a GIANT leap Jo. Well done.

I do hope that it has positive benefits.

Well, I've spoken to him again this morning and told him a bit of history and he totally understood, wasn't freaked out, wasn't sympathetic or anything, totally refreshing :T

I feel so pleased to have shared with a real live person (NO offence to ANYONE here :)).

He said he understood, understood the deviousness (sp?) of the disease and said that whenever I need to talk he will be there :A

Jo - that is great news, and just having spoken to someone about how you feel, and getting a level yet supportive response, must give you a bit of steel to work with. Well done.:A

Excellent. I find nothing beats face-to-face time with another alcoholic. Computer and phone can be good, but seeing the compassion and love in someone's face is unbeatable. Some subtle nuances of human emotions cannot be expressed in other ways.
