  • Hi Everyone....how are we all doing?

384 AF days for me....wow . The odd thing is I still have to remind myself of how long its been so that I keep on the straight & narrow.

I do agree with what GC said though....I realise now that I also had to change `me` to move on from the alcohol. That was so tough...& although I am still alone in my life I have found an inner peace & I no longer need that escapism that the bottle of wine a night gave me.

What I am trying to say is that I guess now I want to remember rather than try & forget....if that makes sense.

Good luck to everyone....this is a tough journey but every journey starts with that single step....be strong & keep smiling .

    Evening all (()) marru

ssa - lovely to hear from you - alot of what you're saying rings very true in my ears. I like waking up not wondering what kind of idiot/cunning/sneakiness/big gobbedness I've been doing the night before to have a drink or after a good amount of drink without anyone really knowing I've had anything or more than I was supposed too.

Day 1/100 completed (ho ho ho) harder tonight - bit stressed. Taking things slowly - day at a time.

(sorry lurks had to be done)

I'm off to bed *night* x

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

    morning all,
no course today so I can sit in my jammies on the puter for a little bit. The comedy club last night was very good and I drank two ginger ales. First time I've drunk ginger ale in ages and I have to say it didn't taste half as gingery as I remember it - another sign of ageing I guess.

I have a head cold at the moment and a cracking sinus headache so I'm just waiting for the medicine I've taken to start working.

Faye, I totally agree with the waking up after a night out and knowing that you've not done/said anything stupid/hurtful etc. I don't think it's boring to be sober and unhungover anymore - wish I'd come to this conclusion about 15 years ago!

    HAve a good day everyone

    Morning all

Thanks for yesterday :A everything just got to me :o

Anyways, onwards and upwards. I wasn't AF yesterday but I had 1 can (iinstead of 6) and so feel unhungovered this morning.

Something fairly HUGE happened last night, I told somebody about my drinking problem, a work colleague. I don't know if I've done the right thing (it wasn't a boss or anything), I am hoping he will keep it to himself. He is a recovered alcoholic himself. I feel like a huge weight had been lifted.....but lets wait and see if the entire place knows about it this morning

Ah well........nowt I can do now!

Off to do the kids lunches and get ready.....chow for now

That is a GIANT leap Jo. Well done.

I do hope that it has positive benefits.
