I've just been catching up with yesterday's posts. I thought the folks on this site were striving to be responsible & sober pillars of society and not resorting to cheap smut and innuendo. A good laugh though :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.

Sim I'm really, really pleased for you. It's time you got a break - well done. As I've said before you are an inspiration.

SSG You got em gal Hug,Hug,Hug,Hug,Hug,Hug,Hug.

You sound really low you poor thing but things will get better. how about trying to get off the voddie and swapping to a nice wine. It's hard to give up your favourite tipple but may be worth a try.

I watched the England V. pakistan Twenty20 (cricket) yesterday afternoon. When it finished at 5.45 I realised I had not even thought of a drink. This tends to prove to me that it is a habit/mind set issue.

Anyhow, I was af so that's 3 for me please Shaggy. Will try for another today.

    RN

    Good Morning RN.

    Thanks for the Congrats.

It's been a while since I was called an inspiration! :rotfl:

Hope you enjoyed the cricket. I've never even understood it.. :o

    Have a good day.

    Sim :D

Miss P - when DD's teacher and head teacher did their home visit I had completely forgotten the whole thing. I even forgot to pick DD up from nursery to be there and the place was a pit. :o You are doing ever so well. :T

hello, just caught up with the thread.

Big hugs Cazza and SSG - for different reasons but when you're feeling down and need a hug it doesn't matter why.

I have just one AF day to add, bringing my grand total to a not so grand 2 please shaggy!

We had friends over on Saturday (glug glug glug) and then Friday I managed to drink almost a whole bottle of wine 'just like that'.

It would be really helpful to save some money now too as the architect has given us a very rough estimate for the work that needs to be done and it's a lot. Made me feel slightly queasy at the thought of it to be honest.
So not drinking a bottle of wine between us every day would help enormously as well helping with my waistline and mental health I'm sure.
    Trying to keep in budget.

  • Good afternoon Ladies and Gents,

Hope you're all having a good one.

    All ok and sober here.

Feels good, but loneliness and lack of much in the way of self - worth / self - esteem is tough though. BUT, I am slowly conquering this!

I think that a lot of people who drink heavily, Scrub that - I drank ridiculous amounts because I didn't particularly like myself / like things I'd done to other people.
I wasn't too good at being kind to myself either (and so continued to drink, even though I knew it was slowly killing me). With the help of my CBT (starting next week), hopefully I can learn to be kinder to myself, and in turn kinder to other people.

Re my impending ESA Appeal tribunal, I've had my first reply from back to work Lady. So, one down, two to go :)

Had a visit from the British Heart Foundation earlier to pick up my old sofa (I'd arranged it online), but they turned me down. They didn't want it!
Apparently, because of a couple of small tears on the cushions, they wouldn't be able to sell it on. It is in pretty good nick apart from those though so I was surprised, but fair enough.
Freecycle / local paper (free to a good home) here I come.

My plan now is to keep applying for jobs (even temp for Christmas which I've gone for), and then attend the ESA Appeal Tribunal on 24th September, armed with all my supporting written evidence.

My back to work advisor has also contacted a local 'independent advocacy service' on my behalf too (to help with info / accompany me to Tribunal).

Then, depending on the Tribunal's decision (out of my hands so I'm going to try not to worry about it / just concentrate on my preperation / AA Serenity Prayer and all that!) I'll take it from there - either start work again and go with the CBT OR I'll pursue Rehab.

My gut instinct is that I do really want to get back to work though :)

    Cheers,

    Sim x

    Hi Sim

You're doing great with the AF keep it up. I saw temporary jobs advertised in Primark and Matalan today, not sure what sort of thing you're looking for. I just have to share this smilie (not specifically meant for you sim, just thought we'd find it useful on the thread)
