What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

  • Morning all!

    4 for me please Shaggy!

Maman - I did slimming world many years ago (think I was trying to lose weight for my wedding!). I lost weight on it but my Mum, who I was going with, didn't. But she finds it very difficult to lose weight as she's not big to start with and she likes doughnuts too much!:rotfl: I think its quite easy to work into family meals as lots of "free" foods. Being doing calorie counting until recently but got so fed up with it - too much weighing, calculating etc. Looking forward to joining Slimming World - took on board what Jo said yesterday so am going to go for it. If I put it off for a couple of weeks, my motivation will lessen.

SSG - hope you are ok today. ((hugs))

Piglets teacher here at 9. House all tidy. Will get Piglet dressed just before she gets here otherwise he'll muck himself up, I know he will :rotfl: Just need to run round with the hoover.

Best get on....catch you all later!

    Miss P
    xx

I don't think I did the foil tight enough, so it dried out somewhat..... was still edible, but also meant that the crackling..errr... wasn't :(

I haven't even got the money to buy any booze at the moment so that helps me to be AF!:rotfl:We are so overdrawn this month.

Well, here I am.........as invited by Jo on the quit smoking thread - see above

I have a friend coming for dinner on Friday and he is the sort of chap that loves his grub SO I have bought a piece of pork to do the now famous recipe.

As I said above, I don't really drink but come on this thread quite a bit and have in the last month got to 'know' some of the regular posters.
Just the mere fact that people are posting on here is a huge step in the direction they are aiming for, even if 'the bells' do ring too loudly some days!
There are sooo many people on here who really are doing brilliantly and I couldn't begin to mention them all BUT I would like to say a HUGE WELL DONE to Sim
You really really do sound as if you ARE on the up! You seemed to be in a particularly bad place when I started reading the thread and I have seen such an enourmous difference. Keep going.........even when difficulties bombard you.........just keep thinking how much better you are actually feeling. Also try and remember you are NOT giving up drinking/alcohol........you ARE giving up drinking yourself into oblivion.......being at it's total mercy.........giving up the awful way it makes you feel..........the horrendous hangovers...........alienating yourself from others...........spending money you don't have but will do ANYTHING to make sure you get it..........harming yourself mentally and physically every day............that is what you are giving up..............and just look what you are gaining! (Graeme's posts really do hit home)

Sorry for the long ramble, hope you don't mind it from someone who doesn't actually have an alcohol problem (but see above about my father) but just felt I wanted to let you know how proud I have been of you this last month.

    Good Morning DD,

So sorry to read about your Dad. Big Hugs x

Thank You so much for your Congrats. You got me welling up!

I like your angle of looking at what we have to gain, as opposed to what we are giving up. Spot on.

    Enjoy your day.
