    Evening all

((hugs)) Marru. It must be very difficult. Hope you and ex can work things out. What did he do to cause you to be so angry? (sorry, that sounds really nosey!!)

Combination of things really. Too long story to go into detail. It is like Chinese water torture but with words. No drop isolated is big deal but when you put it together it is sheer torture. So the end result is that he can turn around innocently asking me to point out exactly what he has said or done and obviously I can't and then I go away thinking that I am blowing everything out of proportions which is exactly how he wants me to think. AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHH. I don't EVER, EVER, EVER want to see him again. NEVER!!!!!

  • Thanks Jo - it just so happens it was a shoulder of pork that I bought today. Can't wait to try that tomorrow - will report back. (Oops sorry Miss P.) Well I'm up to Page 7 of this thread now - I'll get there in the end!

Oh, I know that feeling. Only I get it from in-laws and step children!:D
Am yet to work out the answer. Have tried spending a morning crying over it . Doesn't help. Tried shouting and screaming. Doesn't help. Ultimately I think YOU have to become the bigger person. Have managed it with in-laws......still making a hash of it with step-kids.

Maybe mentally prepare yourself for interactions with him....smile and just agree. In front of your daughter YOU need to be seen to be ok? Sorry, trite words in a very difficult situation. Lots of ((hugs)). Hope you and DD are ok tonight.

Well, here I am.........as invited by Jo on the quit smoking thread - see above

I have a friend coming for dinner on Friday and he is the sort of chap that loves his grub SO I have bought a piece of pork to do the now famous recipe.

As I said above, I don't really drink but come on this thread quite a bit and have in the last month got to 'know' some of the regular posters.
Just the mere fact that people are posting on here is a huge step in the direction they are aiming for, even if 'the bells' do ring too loudly some days!
There are sooo many people on here who really are doing brilliantly and I couldn't begin to mention them all BUT I would like to say a HUGE WELL DONE to Sim
You really really do sound as if you ARE on the up! You seemed to be in a particularly bad place when I started reading the thread and I have seen such an enourmous difference. Keep going.........even when difficulties bombard you.........just keep thinking how much better you are actually feeling. Also try and remember you are NOT giving up drinking/alcohol........you ARE giving up drinking yourself into oblivion.......being at it's total mercy.........giving up the awful way it makes you feel..........the horrendous hangovers...........alienating yourself from others...........spending money you don't have but will do ANYTHING to make sure you get it..........harming yourself mentally and physically every day............that is what you are giving up..............and just look what you are gaining! (Graeme's posts really do hit home)

Sorry for the long ramble, hope you don't mind it from someone who doesn't actually have an alcohol problem (but see above about my father) but just felt I wanted to let you know how proud I have been of you this last month.

    DD x
