Hi there! This is the Old Style Daily Thread for Sunday 1st August 2010. It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier![*]As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.[*]When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.[*]Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just fine.
Morning all
Bit dreitch here this morning, been up with baby since 0600, despite her having almost no sleep during day yesterday! *yawning smiley*
Today DH needs to shop for new trousers for a family wedding next week & I'm working this aft, just a few hours but it breaks up the day. Hope to have time to bake & find instructions for BM to have a go tonight or tomorrow. Also got tons of washing & ironing - never ends with 2 littlies & a teenager on board!
Off to make a cuppa - first of many to keep me awake, no doubt!. Hope your day starts well, hugs & kisses in advance!
A xo

Morning everyone.
Nice to see a few of you up nice and early
The day's awastin' don't ya know :rotfl:
Went to bed with a raging headache and still have a headache now. Back is also aching, probably due to having to get into bed with DS - his mattress is way too hard for me. I really need to make the effort to do a little bit of yoga every day but just can't be bothered by the time it's 9pm
Anyway moving on plans for today are to go to Mr T, I need to find a white kaftan type top for the show my tap class are putting on. Um yes did I not mention this before? It's in 2 months time and I also need a nun's head dress. Just don't ask.......
Kids also need yoghurts, cheese and some more milk. Will try and limit things as I already went to the supermarket on Thurs to get some reduced bread.
Tea tonight will no doubt be chicken and veg as I don't have anything out of the freezer and the chicken meat has already been cooked.
Well enjoy your Sunday's everyone. Hugs to those MIA or who need one. Have a good day OS or not.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

Morning all
Very overcast here today.
No real plans today apart from watching the GP, planting mushrooms & cooking a dinner for the 2 of us later, I have some sliced beef & will serve it with new pots, beans, carrots & yorkies.
I've been loaned a book called Precycling, anyone read it? Bits of it are ok, but the author seems to get confused between washing soda & bicarb in one chapter, I'll re-read it later today.
Have a good day everyone
Hugs Hester

Good morning,
6 weeks after we took my kitchen apart, it's more or less back together again. The freezer is still in the playroom and the dishwasher isn't connected yet (hardly ever use it anyway), but I have a working cooker, working sink, some cupboards and a kitchen table.
My last day at work was last week, so as from now I am a SAHM. Big changes all round. Just need to unpack all the bags of kitchen stuff then fit in some more cupboards, and we're all set.
Take care all of you.0 -
Morning All,
Threatening to rain here again, I'm sure the weather yesterday said it was dead on for rain too. I finished painting the kitchen yesterday at last, how long have I been threatening to do that? It's lovely and fresh, and I have made up the wallpaper paste so will start that in a mo'. Should only take and hour or so, six strips. Then I can build my lovely new table which is taking up space in the livingroom in its boxes. When OH comes back, all he has to do is put up my blinds (I don't have the right fixings here or I would do it myself) and replace the bit of skirting which has been off for a year!!!
After that the floors will get a wash, and I will carry on with this decorating lark. I also sanded my carboot mirror last night, so that will need painting, and the hall is to be emulsioned. I have some of those lovely poppy wall stickers, which I am going to put on the stairway to brighten it up, so it should be transformed quickly and cheaply by bedtime
Then tomorrow it will be my bedroom which gets wallpapered and the house tidied up for OH coming home.
I have the WM on, little son wet the bed last night, I am quite annoyed, he hasn't done that for a very lond time, but he had a drink late last night and I forgot to take him to the loo when I was on my way to bed. My sheets will go in on a boilwash when he gets up.
Hope you all have a lovelty day, hugs to anyone in need.

Cranky - glad your kitchen is almost sorted! I hope you enjoy your new career with the Elf
I'm up early but will pop back to bed for an hour with a cuppa and a book before I get down to anything.
Plan's for day include do food shop, return few items and take recycling to tip. I'm hoping to get all 3 done by lunchtime so I can be back in time to watch the Grand Prix. I need to put WM on but it needs my bedding to go in so it will have to wait til I get up properly :rotfl:. I'm also going to look for a new camera.
I think I'll make a bit of a Sunday lunch but it depends on what I buy today.
Have a great Sunday all

Bargainbird, the stickers were from Home Bargains, but I have been nursing them for a while, they were £1 a pack!!
I saw some in TK Maxx the other day though, next to the mirrors, and of course Ikea still sell them, but I think they're £14 or something like that! Right I've had my tea, I'm off now, wish me luck! It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your window

jackie - you're making me tired just reading your post
Fancy coming down and decorating DD's bedroom for me? Its currently a fab custardy yellow but since she needs a wardrobe etc think it might be time re-do the whole room and to venture into the world of pink, pink and more pink
