i just wish that if you go to a shop i am generally a 36gg that if i go to another i would be the same
but oh no that would be too simple i think you need to try every bra on and adjust it all before you can actually say what size you are
i use the 36gg as a gude and then work out if its too small or too big etc
    its murder arrghh
men never have these isses they go to a shop they are small med or large lol

  • Another huge thumbs up for Bravissimo..:D went into their Norwich shop today even though its a 100 mile round trip:eek:

all the assistants were wonderful, so friendly and they made the whole experience a pleasure. The lady who fitted me couldn't do enough for me..was very impressed as the 1st bra she brought me to try was a perfect fit, was amazed at how accurate she was from only looking. I tried on more bra's than i could have imagined (ended up buying the 1st 1 she brought me:o) and ordered another 1 same style, but in black.
i haven't changed in size as much as some ladies on here (went from 38/40 c,d,or dd to 36E) but boobs look far better shape. i have just got to get used to the snugger fit, not uncomfortable just totally different.
so anyone on here still putting getting fitted off for what ever reasons..just go it makes such a difference.
i know these bra's are more expensive but i figured i would rather have 2 or 3 that fitted and would last than half a dozen cheaper ones.

just tell us where it is and we'll find it....
  • Blue Monkey and all the other ladies who've contributed to this fascinating thread - thank you very much indeed. Until I read from beginning to end, I was also deluding myself that I was wearing the right size bra. I'd also made the same silly mistake of buying bigger and bigger band sizes and not changing the cup size at all. Up until yesterday, I was wearing a new (but not very nice and not comfy) M&S bra in 38B. My 'attributes' were all squashed up and sort of flattened, with wobbly bits hanging out - soooo atttractive, not! I had a very quick experiment today - nipped out at lunch and picked up a 36C underwired t-shirt bra in a sale to try on at home. (If it didn't fit I'd give it straight to a charity shop.) I was very surprised when I put it on - it made a huge difference to how I looked when dressed - much 'perkier' & more youthful!!! In fact, having prodded and adjusted myself, I might even go and try on a 36D as I still have a bit of bosom escaping at the sides.

Thank you for stirring me out of my apathy!

Briliant eh? :j I do think that how a bra fits on the body is much more important than the numbers and letters on the label.

It's confession time - I have emptied out my bra drawers today and have 32 bras that no longer fit, 5 of them are still brand new and never worn and that isn't counting all of the saucy undies that aren't size specific.

I am in shock that there are so many and can now work on replacing them with correct size bras, anyone else have any post blue_monkey magic confessions?

Getting a professional fitting service is the best way to find out what size you really are and most of the big stores offer a good service... Doing it yourself or simply taking a guess is NOT the way to do it as many women wear the wrong sized bras all the time and it causes no end of problems for them. I have a large bust size and for years I was wearing the incorrect size - something I only found out after I got professionally measured. Now I wear the right size my backaches are massively reduced and I wear Freya bras from Large Cup Lingerie that are made for larger breasted women that also make a huge difference to how comfortable I am!
  • Blue Monkey, You have a lot to answer for!
I'm a member of an am dram group and went to a production meeting on Friday, I spent the evening sitting opposite a lovely young lady (a mum of a young baby) and a 'bonnie lass' and resisting the urge to mention 'bravissimo'!!!
We had a first rehearsal today and again I had to resist the urge on a number of occassions - your little 'foible' is definately catching! lol

I have had various fittings at various stores - ranging from 34b to 38c!!!!!!!!!

The bra fitting is only as good as the bra fitter. And they really do vary!

This is a brilliant and illuminating thread (even though it's made me miss Heartbeat :rotfl:)

Well done Blue Monkey. MSE should give you an extra medal for all of the help you've given us.

    Thanks  :T

Agreed, I have been reading it for ages and looking at underwear sites now. I was also measured awfully in M&S with underwire digging in and had to take the bras back the next day!
