I wouldn't dare risk locking my purse/cards in the car - especially as we had a leaflet from the local police just last week suggesting we leave glove boxes open to show there's nothing in them (been a run of vehicle break-ins around us according to the leaflet)

It wouldn't necessarily be any good to me anyway, as I know the details of one of my cards by heart (and can normally get another with just a bit of thought). I used to be able to do any of 2 debit or 3 credit cards without getting them out, so the fact I'm down to one and a shakey one shows how much less I've been using them on-line this last couple of years ;).

The most worrying fact is that DS used to know the same one as I do  He never used it without permission, but as I've had a replacement card (due to expiry) he doesn't know the signature strip info anymore ;)

NSD Days 4 and 5 for me yesterday and today! I just about caved today, and bought sweets from Tesco. But I didn't! YAY ME!!! :D:D:D:D
You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.

D/Debit has gone out of bank today (as expected), so I'm stuck on #4 until tomorrow.....

Must remember to pick up frozen peas today (ran out last night, and need some for tea), and think about whether to pick up more milk....

I have 8 pints in the fridge which may last until next D/Debit day which is next Monday, but if Mr M have some of the 50p milk in when I go for lunch I'll check the date and consider picking up another 2 bottles to be sure (they'd run out by shift end yesterday!)

    Good morning all,

All set for a NSD today, lunch packed and ready to go, fares counted out, the rest of my money in spare purse not to be touched till Thurs at the earliest!
Yesterdays spends were not too painful, we've got enough to do us till next shop on Friday.
I noticed a few folks asking if we find we spend more on spendy days. Personally, I dont think I do. Since starting this I dont worry too much about running out of things, previously if we ran out, I would just go and buy and then end up with stuff in the trolley I didnt really need. Now, I have a list in the kitchen. When we run out of something it goes on the list. If it aint on the list it doesnt get bought, unless I see a mega bargain! My rule is, if it's not something we would normally use I dont buy, even if its reduced.
When I first started this, I bought everything whoopsied, then I realised I had a freezer full of stuff just because they were reduced, not because I particularly needed them. I realised I needed to tackle my addiction to shopping (for anything not just food) so to do that I had to avoid the shops! Enter the NSD challenge!:T Doing this makes me focus on what I spend and I find I usally have a bit left from my weekly budget ( hence the spare purse:rotfl:) Even a couple of quid left over makes me feel good. Remember, this is the girl who used to think nothing about slapping thousands on CC'S!

Apologies for the long story, hope it helps some of the new folks.

    Have a lovely day everyone!:)

you will always be rich enough to be generous.

Well yesterday was a spendy day as i finally picked my kitchen & paid a deposit woo hoo :j

I also had to pay for a trip to the races for later in the year, so i shoved some money in envelopes for the builder & plasterer so i won't ruin NSD's when they need paying later in the week, so hopefully can have a run of NSD's now....

Right off to work, where there is no chance i will spend money!!

    Morning all!
After my NSD yesterday I'm going to have to spend today - flea prevention treatment for the dog (its flea season and he's due a topup treatment).
As an aside - for those of you with dogs, try the new line at Pets at Home called Fiproline (its a spot on type thing). Its made just for the store and has the same ingredients as Frontline but is quite a bit cheaper - works for my pooch too.

I don't need anything else but may treat myself to a can of Diet Pepsi - I have cut right down from 2 or 3 cans a day to a couple a week.

I really need to try to find some ways to make a bit of extra cash this month so will spend some time investigating that. I haven't been paid since June 3rd and my savings are dwindling fast! Hopefully I'll get paid for all of teh supply teaching I did on Friday this week but the overdraft of a few hundred pounds I've acquired recently is worrying me and needs to go again leaving me with just the remnants of a loan to pay and a CC balance.

Right enough thinking out loud........ have a good day!
