5 years ago, one of my dogs, a tiny hairy black terrier, was killed by an English Bull Terrier when I had him on his lead with our other dog, and the next morning I woke up (well to tell the truth I did not sleep) and he was not in-between our pillows where he always slept. Bonnie, who we still have, came up from the bottom of the bed and sniffed around as if to say 'where is he?' It does take a very long time to get over but, for me, having other dogs helps - we normally have a couple but after Billy was killed I said that I would only have one from now on as I felt safer with just one if other dogs were about
That's awful, 3Dogs, what a horrible thing to happen:(

Hi lovely NSD gang :A
Lots of NSDs rolling in again, well done everyone:j
A very warm welcome to all our newbies signing up this month, new people are always welcome to join, we’re a a very friendly, if slightly insane, bunch and a surreal sense of humour definitely helps. We are, however, very serious in our aim to cut down on our spending and are happy to give advice/tips/hints so please ask if you’re not sure about anything. Everyone seems to have more success if they post regularly on here and join in the chat - not sure why, but it seems to work, so please feel free to join in
So welcome to:
gettingthereslowly: :hello: hi and welcome, never too late to join up. Signing you up for 12 now - good luck. Keep posting, look forward to lots of updates

Hi,
Im a bit delayed in this months proceedings (...got some carp going on at work). Please pop me down for 15 Spoony.
So far im up to 3/15.
Big hugs to everyone x0 -
This is Orphan, hope they work
My Dalmatian is an 'unofficial rescue dog' - came through neighbours of SIL after one of their friends (and neighbour of his owners) 'removed' him from his previous home (apparently after seeing owner about to take an air rifle to him  I'm told owners were splitting up, and neither wanted the other - nor friends of the other - to have him!!!).
I had no concerns about it being legit, as he came with all his paperwork (kennel club papers and vaccination records) plus medication he was on at the time. And when my vet had to phone the one on the medical card to double check why he was on the meds, the other vet didn't have any problems passing on the info (which I'm sure he would if the dog had been reported missing/stolen)Cheryl0 -
Good morning all!
Kathy - thanks for posting your photos, what a honeybun!:T Look forward to hearing his story if you're up to it. Sending (((hugs)))
Spoon, thanks for the support re work:A. All was calm yesterday so that was good. Puss and doglet still improving, yes it's a relief! Puss seems a lot happier now that I've got him back on his old food!
I dont know what's going on in my life atm, but I feel some funny negative forces going on. Not only have the pets been ill, then hassles at work, came home last night to find our extremely horrible neighbour had parked in our spaces. He runs an airport taxi/minibus business and seems to think our very narrow street is his personal parking lot. He wont answer the door if you try to speak to him. I've had words with him before and he's a bit scary. Just a bloomin bully - you know the type!! OH was going mental about him, particularly when he started up one of his cars and tooted the horn outside our house at 5am!
The other week, I got stopped in the street by a woman asking me to "buy a lucky charm from a gypsy" I said no, but since then all these things have been happening. OH says thats a load of bo$$ocks, and I'm hoping you guys will say the same - I'm a worrier about that kind of stuff. Sorry for the long rant!:(
Anyhoo - reporting no 3 for yesterday. not sure about today, dont need any groceries today, but might be going for coffee with my sis and niece.
I'll check back later, have a lovely day everyone!:)
you will always be rich enough to be generous.0 -
