  • Anybody got an HSBC credit card and also applied for a M&S card? Was it a decent credit limit?

I've got a First Direct account with a FD visa. My limit is £3100 and I just cleared the balance this week but when the M&S application went through a couple of weeks ago the balance was £2.7k.

After a phone call my new M&S limit went from £2k to £3K so not decent IMO.

I also have an Egg card and my Debenhams store card has just been changed to a visa card.

Hi Jetsetuk, I have an hsbc card on a 0% rate (limit 2.5k). Applied for the M&S card and only had 2k limit. Phoned them up and asked for an increase but they said no, they were only willing to examine the limit in a few months.
  • Hello all - I'm very new to this site but spotted this thread earlier and thought I'd apply for one of these as I need to shuffle around some debts - I had to do it over the phone in the end as their system was having some issues and my application has been referred for an underwriting decision. Has anyone else had this and if so could you give me an idea of how long it took them to come back to you?

    Thanks! JM

anyone having trouble with the online application? I keep getting to step 3 and it throws me back to step 1, but doesn't signify which part i'm getting incorrect! very frustrating!
    Me too:confused:
  • I did apply online on Tuesday, when I got the above message. It did let me get to the end so presuming that application went through ok. They must be having a huge demand since then.

Just phoned to do the BT and first request to increase the £2K limit was declined, with the "phone back in a few months". I therefore had a friendly but robust ;) conversation regarding the low limit and they've increased to
    £4K :T Nice one.

So, BT from Egg now on its way. The other bit of good news is Egg have agreed 5.9% LOB rate on the bit I couldn't transfer (just over £2K). OK, so I lose 1 month at 0%, but better than being left to go onto the standard rate of 15.9%, erm no, that went up recently, make that 16.9%

    So Plan B worked. Phew!
