Hi all
Just need a quick rant to make me feel better! at 1st I thought it was my TV but after speaking to friends, i've discovered its not! why is it that some adverts are SOOOOO loud? After trying for 2 hours to try and get my teething little-un to sleep, she dropped off to be louldy awoken by the new 'Go Compare' (on the beach) advert 2 mins later! ugggghhhh! it scares me to death! WHY?
Also whilst i'm on the subject, the 'ice ice baby' woman on the Halifax adverts makes me want to punch her!
Argggh feel better now!
Sorry for moaning peeps but just need to get it off my chest! Right off back to rocking and TV on mute for me!

I find this annoying also. Go-Compare is the worst. I would never use them because of the annoying tune.
Some TV's have a setting that cuts the sound down in loud bits/adverts. Have a look in the sound menu.0 -
I agree I think tv companies deliberately allow increase in volume for adverts, go compare are one of the most annoying adverts for many years
I try and avoid commercial tv when I can by pre recording them and skipping ads occasional I view advertse when I dont record and happen to channel hop and see a program that interests me0 -
ohhhh I didnt know that, thank you, i'll have a look now. I wish my TV would automatically switch off when adverts come on and then back on again when they've gone off! :T0

It's quite simple (and probably covered on google ad infinitum). People leave the room during adverts (go to the loo, check on the baby, make a cup of tea etc). So adverts are broadcast louder so that you'll still hear them
I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care
Oh I wish I was a punk rocker with flowers in my hair0 -
Box the progammes on something like Sky+ and then zip through the adverts. Saves time as well.
So if you wanted to watch a program on ITV at 9 today, box and start watching at 9.150 -

Seems ITV got into trouble for this in February:

Will never use Go-Compare. Not unless I can pull his moustache off.
Webuyanycar- scrabbling for mute button.
Adverts for food with people chewing with their mouth open, smacking their lips and going 'mmmmmm'.0 -
if everyone's wish came true..the 'ice ice' lady and go compare would receive a lot of punches...0
