Fridays dd eats at mum and dads whilst I do the food shop - more about tonights fantabulous spend in a minute :D. Tomorrow night I'm out doing a music quiz with my mum and dad at the golf club so I'm going to eat at theirs beforehand and dd will be at my sister's.

She'll be 8 next week - the time has certainly flown. So far all I've got her is a 'Create your own perfume' kit and a CD. All these years I've been trying to shape her music tastes - we listen to Planet Rock, she'll sing along to Led Zep, Gary Moore, Supertramp, Muse, stuff that's 40+ years old, she loves my Beth Hart/Joe Bonamassa CD in the car, I thought 'my work here is done' and she asks for.......a Pixie Lott CD . Could be worse I suppose....it could be One Direction . I'll get her a few more bits but it's difficult when it's so soon after xmas - all my ideas have run out :(

Tonights spends After my £5 and 30% off coupons had gone through the grand total was (drum roll please)...£28.64 :j. This included various bits for dd's party next week, a gammon joint, icecream, 2.5kg pack of washing powder PLUS all my usual stuff. Ironically we won't be having too many meals here next week but that doesn't matter, it will be a smaller spend next week :T

Music quiz Last year we came 3rd out of about 15 teams. First place were amazing, a class above everyone else. Second place we later found had been cheating by using an iPad. This year first place aren't in it and we can discount 2nd place so it will be a very level playing field. Looking forward to it.

Jacket potato is in the oven, looking forward to Hustle and Stella tonight (and the ice-cream - cookie dough mmmmmmmm)

I wondered who it was they had been to see!

Well, things might change for tonight. DD woke me up about 5.30 with a tummy ache so we came down here and she sat on the toilet for a bit and she couldn't go so we went back to my room for a snooze...then she woke me up and said she felt sick :( we sped down here again and made it just in time but bless her she was really sick (sorry if TMI). However immediately after she perked up no end and has since been playing on the computer and is now playing in the bath and singing.

Not sure what to do about tonight though . She wants to go to my sister's and to see her you'd never know she'd been ill. Not sure what it could have been? A bug? And now she's got rid of it feels much better. Food poisoning? She had swimming at school yesterday, she could have picked up something then..

I think I'll see how she is today and if she continues to be fine I'll go but drive and then I can pick her up if I need to. Obviously if she's bad at any point today I just won't go.

Got loads to do today. We want to go to town to pick up some bits for her party, I want to get my eyebrows threaded, pick up an Argoose book, go to the library and pick up some bits at sainsbugs.

    Morning Poles,

hope your weekend sorts itself out. Haha to music tastes, likewise mine knows all my music, but still loves the pop stuff. But then, I had to go through the Duran Duran stage to get once :D
  • Ahh poor dd, hope she keeps on feeling better. Kids are often like that though aren't they, feel yukky and once they're sick they are absolutely fine:o We have the 'stay off school for 48hrs after you're sick' rule at school and I know people say that often the children are just fine once it's all come out!
I did see the time you posted this morning and thought eeeeek, on a Saturday morning? Now I know why;) My eldest woke me up at about 3am as her ear was sore - it's been like it on and off, she was off school yesterday. So I gave her some paracetamol, refilled the hot water bottle and was asleep again in 5mins;)

    Have a good busy day:D

She's insisting she's fine. She hasn't been ill again and is just lolling around on the sofa which actually has been quite nice. We haven't been out at all. We have until 4pm to decide what to do and says she wants to go to my sister's. She's trying to sleep now.

I am getting a bit panicky about all the things I have got to get done before next saturday. Maybe I can pop into town tomorrow morning before I pick her up from my sister's (assuming she goes that is).

Well she woke up and said she still wanted to go but became really quiet. We got to my sister's and she wanted to come home. I wouldn't have enjoyed myself anyway. She was really sick again and then perked up and we've had quite a nice evening playing catch (don't ask) and watching Take Me Out.

We started watching Mrs Doubtfire and she's now asleep on the sofa.

I hope it's on its way out now :(

We had a much better day today and even made it into town to get some of the bits for next week (and I got my eyebrows threaded which of course was v important :D).

DD has managed to keep down a bowl of noodles and we are going to try beef casserole tonight. It's difficult to know what to do. She doesn't want dry toast or biscuits but i think hopefully she's on the mend now. Hope so because I'm running low on bleach now!

£4 has gone in the hedgehog.:)

Buyer from last week has been able to pay up now.:)

I've got a bid on a coat on ebay and several other items with watchers ending tonight.:)

My friend managed to find 2 more people to go to the cinema today and as I bought the tickets I've now got all my money back. I'll take dd next weekend all being well. :)

    Spends today:-

New slippers for both of us - £5 in sale in Primarni
    Sainsbugs - £13.05
    Wilk0 for party bits - £13.43
Threading - £3 (from cash in purse so already accounted for)
