I am really happy today because my maintenance went in. Now I don't know if this is this week's a day early or last week's that i didn't get! if it is last week's then that is great because I should get some more tomorrow which means that 2 days before payday and I am actually quite flush!
So, what do with it?
I will pay a bit extra off the vile virgin card.
I need to get some petrol.
I don't think I need anything else!
This means I will be going into payday still in the black :j so nice to actually have a bit of money to play with, which is a good job actuallt because October is a busy month for birthdays - think I have about 10 to buy for .
I've worked out there are 4 Fridays till payday next month so I will transfer over £160 again to my grocery account.
I've been thinking more and more about doing DD's bedroom up and there are some quite nice bedroom suites in IKEA and if I start saving now I should be able to get them and a carpet (if I'm v clever with the money) before xmas - at least that is the plan.
I have £38.15 in my OnePoll account - so near yet so far!
Signed up to PineCone - hope they accept me.
I have done my PAD of £1.47 today.
My friend had a baby on Friday (boy) so last night I dragged DD over to Asda to buy him an outfit. I got a cute little Tom & Jerry sweatshirt (£3.50 with half maked price sticker so £1.75) and a pair of jeans for £5 which had 25% off at the till! So quite a nice little outfit that looked like it cost far more than it actually did. I love this part of MSE - empowering
WLM is coming round on Friday for my DeLuxe Toad-in-the-Hole. You wrap the sausages in parma ham and serve with a red onion gravy...mmmm. Hope it's OK because I've only cooked it once before - about 10 years ago!
Off to catch up with the rest of you.....It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
Well it looks like the maintenance money that went in must have been last weeks because yesterday there was another amount. So because I wasn't expecting it I have had a lot of fun shifting money around between my various accounts. So I have:-
Paid £47.97 off Virgin card in the last 2 days.
Moved my £50 remaining balance to save for DD's new bedroom.
Worked out money for coming month.
I have checked my CC balance (after today's PAD) and the amount I am going to send tomorrow will bring the balance down to £2200. I will of course try to make my little piddly PADs too and that should take care of the extra intrerest that's going to go on.
I have asked for MemoryGirl's book because there's a lot of things I need to know for work and I just feel that since having DD I am unable to absorb details. Maybe I would have just got like this anyway but it has got to help.
Not been for a run today. I got changed then as I went out the door it was pouring with rainnever mind Pole class tonight and that is great exercise.
Right - off to pay memorygirl her money! It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
Just reached £40 on OnePoll!!!
Also been accepted for PineCone so that will keep me out of trouble for a while tooIt's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
Payday today so I have had some fun shifting money around between accounts.
Paid £107.62 to Virgin to bring it down to £2200.
Told DD last night that I would re-do her bedroom for her for her Xmas present so she is really excited and we spent a lot of time in her room talking about what would go where. I think she thinks that the room is some kind of tardis because the amount of extra furniture she thinks she'll be able to have just through getting rid of her triple wardrobe is completely unrealistic. So, I now have given myself the challenge of getting it painted, new carpet down and new furniture before 25 December . Practically speaking i could do this in a week, financially speaking it's going to take a bit longer than that. Still, I like a challenge
WLM coming round tonight! Can't wait :jIt's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -

Story of my life:(
Doing up the bedroom is such a lovely Christmas present and one that will last all year long.

She will love it, although i have tried that one with my daughter and i still end up doing little extra's for Christmas..lolBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
Wow what a lot of poitive posts. You been doing the MG Mantra, "Money flows towards me"
The bedroom idea sounds great. Have you been over to the shabby chic thread? There are lots of interesting ways to make bedrooms look FAB on little cash. Not sure if you are into the shabbying but Vikkis bedroom on there is really pretty and girly. All inspired by a £5 duvet cover from Tesco. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -

Our house is very shabby chic anyway, lots of pastels and white furniture. I do love that look.
Well friday night was a bit of a disaster really. WLM is not well. Not sure quite what's wrong with him but i think it is all stress related. Things are getting quite nasty between him and his ex when it comes to selling the house and there are uncertainties with his job. He said he has got a numb arm, a spasmic leg (which i think is sciatica) and now it looks like he's coming out in eczema. He said he constantly feels tired and wakes up feeling rough every day. Consequently we had our dinner and he leftI felt so deflated when i went to bed on Friday night. He did apologise and said he would make up for it but I just felt so disappointed. i think I took it personally and as a consequence I have felt really miserable all weekend. Anyway he has been put on anti-inflammatries and is having a blood test tomorrow.
Spent quite a bit on DD at the weekend. She needed some new jeans and I bought her a sequined top and sparkly shoes because she's going to a disco party in a couple of weeks. We also treated ourselves to some butterfly cakes from M & S and had lunch in McDonalds. She was really good though and I think that was our most successful trip to the shopping centre - on a saturday too :T None of our purchase were in the sale though - not very MSE. Did go to a boot fair yesterday though - it was sooo cold!! We weren't wearing our winter coats so I had to buy us one each for a £1 just so we could stay warm! Went to the nursery in the afternoon and bought some winter pansies so I re-did my sorry looking baskets.
Had a migraine for the rest of the weekend though and it is only just going now.
Onwards and upwards.....It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
:grouphug: hun. So sorry you ended up upset. You have to give him another chance and let him make it up to you. Think about it like this, being sick isn't exactly sexy. If you felt ill while on a date you wouldn't want to be there, you'd just want to home and hide under the duvet until you felt better which is probably how he felt.
Slightly worrying about the ex and house, sounds like a lot of baggage but you know how it is, when someone's feeling unwell everything gets them down, including things they'd cope well with on a normal day.
Try not to spend all your time thinking about him, pop over to Memorygirls thread for lots of positivity and happy vibes.
