Had a lovely time last night. DD apparently had a great time too (which meant i could relax more) she is still not back so must be enjoying herself! WLM cooked me beef bourgignon which was gorgeous although we didn't eat till about 9pm and I made chocolate bread and butter pudding. Feel a bit of a pig today!

Have just been out and about this morning. We are going to France for the day tomorrrow (I know I haven't got any money but this was arranged a few weeks ago :o and it's costing £30 for the 4 of us - my friend. her DD, me and my DD). I have got my currency, found our passports (miraculously seeing as we don't use them much :D) and had a quick trip to Asda because I desperately need a warm winter coat - so much about these days is just too thin for winter. Anyway i bought one if their grey military style coats for £18. Ummed and aaahhed about it because I do have a grey coat for work but it is too nice to wear with jeans at the weekend. The one I bought is just perfect. Not least of all for the ferry brrrrrrrrr!

CSA money went in as they said (!!) but I had quite a bit of expense at the weekend so it's all gone out again :(. Never mind, things generally seem to work themselves out I have found and I have loads of food in the cupboards and freezer and all the bills are accounted for.

Got another £3 luncheon voucher from PineCone this morning - that will certainly come in handy. I haven't spent the other one yet so I have £6.

We have had 2 power cuts here this morning. Not long ones just a few seconds really but enough to have to re-set alarm clocks and microwave clocks. That is about 5 in total in the last 2 weeks. I noticed EDF at the bottom of the road so probably some berk has cut the wrong cable.

Think that's it. Just cooking myself an egg for an egg mayo sarnie and going to watch some TV - if the power stays on that is........

Hey Poles, how did the trip to france go.

Sounds like WLM is a keeper if he cooks that kind of meal. Hope that all is well with you

Just a quick reply - I seem to have less and less time these days. Not been able to go for a run this lunchtime as it is lashing down (I'm a fairweather runner :o) so am trying to have a bit of a catch-up.

Things seem to be going quite well with WLM. Went to see a band on Thursday night (a school night!!!) and had a really nice time. Going to see another in London this Saturday.

Finances are going badly. I don't think I have really recovered from the missing CSA payment, even though it all seems up to date. I have had a bit of added expense lately but hoping I can catch up with myself in the next month or so.

I have started my Xmas shopping! 20 minutes ago to be exact. I've bought 2 pressies for DD. I'm thinking if I can get it all done in the next few weeks then it might ease things up on the finances for December......

    £11/£40 for OnePoll.

CSA payment went in but only about 2/3 of the usual weekly amount so i am a little concerned. At least some has gone in.

£25.64 paid to Virgin CC. I'm afraid that is it for the month so the debt will be going down slowly. Hopefully I can throw more at it next month when I don't have any ASC fees to pay.

One more Xmas present for DD bought. She is easy! It's the rest of the family I'm having problems with! They either don't know what they want or (in the case of my sister) won't let me pick out something myself and then moan that Xmas is no fun because there are no surprises

Went for a run at lunchtime and really struggled. I have been doing this for 2 years now, you would think I would be able to cope.

Quiet day here at work.....will check for more OnePoll surveys....

  • It seems to be more commonplace reading about the *fiasco* that is CSA- hope it gets resolved for you soon. x

It is so long since I updated this diary:eek: can't even begin to get everything up to date.

Had a lovely xmas. I was starting to worry about money a bit with everything that I had to pay out before I got paid in December, like all the presents and January's ASC fees but I sat down and wrote everything down. I transferred money out to my food account and actually it doesn't look at all bad. I have even managed to book DD's Build-a-Bear party for February and I am still in credit! That is a huge weight off my mind Still have child benefit and CSA money to go in so not looking too bad at all. If that does happen then I will pay a bit more off the blasted credit card as for the last few months I have only been managing the minimum payment which I know is not good at all :(.

Am sitting here at work and it is freezing. It's a really old building anyway (16 Century at least) and something went wrong with the boiler over xmas so it only got fired up this morning. As well as my work clothes I have my fleece and scarf on and my coat over my legs. The radiators are up to full blast, I am sitting next to a portable radiator and we have one of those electric blower things to try to raise the temperature and it is STILL cold . I am going to need a really hot bath when i get in to warm my bones up.

Went for a food shop yesterday and really stocked up just in case we get another load of snow dumped on us. At least i won't be scrabbling round in the food cupboards trying to cobble a meal together from random ingredients like last time :o.

Can't wait to get home to my warm little house.

I am leaning against my hot water bottle as I type. Not because it's cold, it's actually lovely and warm in here today because my back really hurts :(. I have either slept awkwardly or the sitting for 6 hours in the freezing cold yesterday didn't do me any good :(

    Just a few random thoughts....

I haven't been running for 6 weeks now (or it will be 6 weeks by the time I finally make it out again). I really want to try out my new trainers that I got for Xmas!

    £18.25 in One Poll account.

Talking of 'poll' I haven't been to a pole class for nearly 6 weeks for one reason or another. I think i will just return when the next course starts. This will make my bank balance look healthier because I have already taken the £60 into account so I will be even more better off this month than I thought.
