I have a blinking migraine
my own fault as I slept in till the hugely late time of 8am yesterday  I know that's not late at all but it does seem to be one of my triggers.

The tablets and the rest did me good though.
Hope you are feeling better now.RosaBernicia wrote: »I've had a migraine today too and so has a friend
Well I haven't had one - as I don't. But this week at work I've had a few people come to blag paracetamol (I am the local apothecary aparently...)RosaBernicia wrote: »- we reckon it's something to do with the bright summer light oddly trapped under clouds.
Is it? How's it doing that?

It started to really hammer it down just as we got back here. The noise against the back door was awful. I reckon I'll need to get back on the roof and sort out the guttering again soon
Gutter should be OK in the rain - it's the ice and snow that kills them.I am sitting watching the TdF in peace with a hot water bottle on my head:T

It's weird - a lot of people have said to me recently that it's something to do with the weather. Could be something in it, pressure maybe?
It feels much better now anyway :j
I've just cleaned the oven, by mistake  I just tried to get a couple of burnt bits off the base and before I knew it I was on my knees with a bucket of soapy water - quiet Z.... Anyway it's done now and it's marvellous...I usually only clean the oven the day before I move house :rotfl:It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
I do find light affects mine - I am/ get very light sensitive - and my dad always found that the worst thing for him was backlit silhouettes.
It's been tipping down here but the clouds have been kind of in the middle so when you look at the skyline you see bright light - I've found it really migraine-ish and was glad when it rained enough that I could put the umbrella up, as that helped block the light too!

We are getting a kitten! A girl at work has 5 and I have been umming and ahhing for a while now and today I just decided to go for it I picked dd up from ASC and we went round to see them - I didn't tell her what we were going round for. When she saw them I asked her if she wanted one and she said 'No'...because she thought we couldn't afford it...bless her. Now she knows we can she is so excited, she can barely get to sleep upstairs...
Have already popped over to the pet board to ask for advice.
The one we want is a boy and is all black - at least they think that is the boy - they are all being sexed tomorrow so fingers crossed it is a boy because I have said we won't be getting a girl.
All being well we pick him up middle of AugustIt's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -

We are getting 2 kittens! Turns out the litter was 4 boys and 1 girl so we are having 2 boys. I feel happier about this after reading all the advice on the pet board. It's not going to be dull around here that's for sure
and have rebalanced the male: female ratio in this house in one swift move
I've been looking at dry food and cat litter prices online - talk about a huge choice. I'm finding it all quite overwhelming. Rosa - what is the best litter to buy????
I have also been rather extravagant and bought a new TV for my bedroom :shhh: it's widescreen, 19", HD ready with freeview, DVD player and a USB thingy not sure what that's for (sorry not v techy) and it was only £80 in the sale from Mr T. Will be nice to have a working TV up there again after all there's not much else happening in my bedroom at the moment
Got a real pain in my back and arms at the moment. I feel slightly coldy so might be that or also might be the Silks Taster I did on Tuesday at pole class. It's like pole but using silks hanging from RSJ instead. It's great fun but I am certainly feeling it now
Been making mini PADs to my barclaycard and am currently standing at less than £590. On target for DFD of September 2012 :T
I sold my iPhone for a pretty decent price but as I was packing it up i noticed a very small scratch on the screen. Certainly never saw it when I was photographing it :wall: I've sent it out but emailed the buyer and said if they aren't happy with it they can send it back and I will refund them in full, grrrr....
2 more bids on the handbag tonight (it finishes tomorrow night) and anothe beep has told me there's a bid on a CD. It all helps, especially if I'm going to be getting kittens and TVs on a whim......
Emailed WLM to see if he's still OK for Sunday. Not heard back from him yet but swift communication was never his strong point and as we are emailing through facebook it could be a day or so until he sees it. No idea if he's still on the same mobile number but it would be easier.
Just waiting for the washing machine to finish working its magic so I'll sort the washing out and then I think I'll go to bed with a hot water bottle for my poor back. Is this what happens when you're 40 ???It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -

Er, as you have probably noticed from the pet care board, opinions differ :rotfl: I totally agree it's all rather overwhelming. Am scandalised at the lack of actual evidence for any all this pet stuff - I dunno that I really thought there'd be a Veterinary Institute of Clinical Evidence, but I didn't think it would all be quite so muddled as it seems! Mine is currently on half wet food and half dry, both from Zooplus as it meant he can have better quality stuff for about the same cost as a supermarket can.
I've only tried moggie on two litters - first wood pellets because it's cheap and smells nice. That basically means it starts off in pellets and er, moisture turns it to sawdust, so you either chuck it all out and refill or scoop out the whole pellets for re-use. Seemed rather a pain to me so then tried Oko Plus Cat's Best - it's wood based so sustainable source, and can be flushed. That's a 'clumping' litter which er, moisture turns to well, solid. So you scoop out the lumps and the rest stays in the tray. I'm finding that simpler and less time consuming. Oko certainly isn't the cheapest clumping litter though, you can get clay ones and others which are less. There's also a whole thread on the Pet Care Board comparing Oko with a new one called Tigerino which is quite a bit cheaper (I think it's only available from Zooplus though).
I would say train them to use a hooded litter tray though, mine was used to an open one and am now hoping to swop him over as the messy mog manages to flick litter everywhere over the sides and I am fed up with having the dustpan out all the time!
Hurrah for new TV and silks sounds interestingfingers crossed for Washing Line Man (am still intrigued at the name :rotfl:)

You will be able to plug a memory stick in and it will play movie/song files off it. You'll have to check to see which formats of movie file are compatible. MPEG (incl. MP3) is a given, and Ogg try really hard to get their stuff on everything. Other formats tend to be a bit of a crap shoot.and it was only £80 in the sale from Mr T. So now there's going to be action there?

Don't you say that about most of your nights?Just waiting for the washing machine to finish working its magic so I'll sort the washing out and then I think I'll go to bed with a hot water bottle for my poor back. Is this what happens when you're 40 ???
Nope. It's what happens when you knacker your back.
Hot baths I find work really well. As does a massage - but I find they're hard to come by alas.RosaBernicia wrote: »I've only tried moggie on two litters - first wood pellets because it's cheap and smells nice. Why don't you get a gardening screen/seive of the appropriate screen size? Stick it over the wheelie bin and drop the used litter into it. What you don't see again, you didn't want to see again. Dump what's left back into the tray and top up.RosaBernicia wrote: »I would say train them to use a hooded litter tray though,

Quite liking the idea of a litter you can flush...very convenient. I'm going to give that Oko stuff a try, might look into the Tigerino though too.fingers crossed for Washing Line Man (am still intrigued at the

So called by Pixiechick IIRC because he was a fb friend then came round to mend my washing-line when I put a plea out on my status for someone to fix itYes I hope the meet up goes OK....
