We had a lovely day yesterday. Nice coffee and chat in the morning, nice long walk (approx 7 miles) and a natter in the afternoon dodging showers.

Spends were £4.20 on hot chocolate, ice cream and crisps for sustanance during our walk.

I started watching the England game in the evening then got the most awful headache (which I have still got) so halfway through extra time I went up to bed thinking that I would find out the result by any cheers I heard or through facebook. Besides the noise of a domestic coming from the Chavs house was far more interesting :D. Also, I have Italy in the sweepstake at work so really didn't care who won - although Italy winning would benefit me more financially :D although I can't see anyone beating Germany

Got another text from CSA this morning with another week's money and I have a birthday cheque to pay in so I will do that at lunchtime. Finances are not looking so bad at all now. I feel much more in control of things now.

....in more ways than one :D

I tend not to find idiots screaming to be all that enthralling after a short while. You must have more interesting morons than me...

If you look at how many times the Favourite wins these things, you'll see it's actually not very often.

Yesterday i made a little extra PAD of £7.63 to my barclaycard which will bring the balance down to £600 when my direct debit goes in on about the 19th. Today I did another cheeky little PAD of £1.64 so I know for sure that by the end of next month the balance will definitely be below £600. I really feel like I am on the home strait now. I know many on here could probably clear that in one payment but that's just not going to happen here. Aim - end of September.

Work was great yesterday - when i walked in they started playing 'Happy Birthday' by Stevie Wonder, I had 3 helium balloons, loads of banners, a bouquet of flowers, bottle of JD, red wine, chocolate (they know me so well - no wonder I get headaches ) a mug and coaster with my pole pictures on and in the afternoon they walked in with a cake that one of the girls had made :) I was just so touched - i had hoped they'd decorate my desk but I didn't expect all that.

Then in the evening I had arranged to go for a meal with one of my best friends. Not sure if I've mwntioned this before but my two best friends used to be best friends and now they aren't and I am stuck in the middle. Walked into restaurant with one of them and the other was in there. And sitting behind us too. Possible thre most awkward meal I have ever sat through :(. Everyone feeling awkward and to top it all the one who I hadn't gone to the restaurant with text me later and said she wouldn't be coming on my girls night out tomorrow night - they were both invited. I feel so caught in the middle and at times I feel like I'm having an affair I'm sneaking around so much!!

To cap it all the bloke I had a mini fling with last month is now giving me, not so much the cold shoulder but I think he's had an attack of the consciences and there is a distinct chilliness there. I don't really regret any of it, I had a great time but I wish blokes would maintain a little bit of the keenness that they show at the outset. Never mind - onwards and upwards.

Then my sister rang me this morning and said she thought she ought to tell me that she had an email through facebook yesterday from Washing Line Man (remember him?). Seemed like he was really pouring his heart out. He really wanted to wish me happy birthday but wasn't sure of the right way to do it. He'd put in loads of really complimentary stuff about me and my family. I can't quite make it out. We split up nearly 8 months ago and apart from a text before xmas I've heard nothing at all from him. Seems strange that he went to all the effort of emailing my sis through fb....

Come on Italy!! 2-0 keep this up and i'm guaranteed at least £20 from the sweepstake at work.

    Financial news

    £1.17 PAD to barclaycard.

£24.76 food shop so in budget still.

£50 cheque paid in at NWB on Monday still not showing on account....

I've been in something similar before. I took the "brazen it out" attitude. Both sides knew I would be seeing the otherside, and that I thought they were both being stupid about it.

    They both respected my position.

What? Someone with a conscience?

Quick! Shoot him and mount him on the wall!

Ahem! I can say *exactly* the same about women. A *number* of times.
