Can I join in please? I was planning on a bit of sewing today but was suffering from 'can't be bothered' syndrome. Now I've come across this thread I'll just do my hoovering then get on with it. I want to make some new jammies and a top from a pattern I use a lot but with an assymetric skirt type thing stuck on the bottom (don't know how that will work out) as I'm going out for a meal at the pub this evening. Be nice to have something new to wear.0

Thank you for the push - I now have a lovely assymetric top with ruched sides cos it came out too long! I skipped the jammies and made a tie front shrug to go over the top. Trouble is it is a bit dressy for the pub so I might have to save it for another time. At least I'm getting through my fabric mountain!0

I have the same problem but find that petite ranges or short fit OK, I hate turning hems. I can sew and I did make a tablecover last weekend good luck with your challenge.0 -

Glad to be of service!
My own sewing hasn't gone so well, only managed to put the collar on my tunic. Never mind, I'll get up bright and early tomorrow. The housework can wait!0 -
Have you done your sewing today LizD? I'm going to make my jammies in a bit I think so I can have a bath and put them on to watch X Factor, we always watch it on a Sunday night.
I did wear my tops to the pub and I was glad I did as I felt really comfy and nice.0 -
Hi Mariel
Yes, I've just finished the tunic, took longet than i thought it would. Am going to hem a pair of trousers and hopefully I'll have time to make another pair.0 -
go you! Hope you get your trousers done. The trouble is, I'm so inspired now that I can feel a(nother!) splurge coming on at sewingpatterns.com0

Results time for the sewing challenge:
Tunic finished apart from the buttons. 1 pair of trousers hemmed.
Not quite as much as I'd hoped, but the trousers have been waiting to be hemmed for about 6 months, so that's a result. Fiance also said the top was really nice!
I feel really motivated to finish my other projects now!
How did everyone else do?0 -
Very proud of myself this weekend! Managed to sew a coat I had been menaing to do for ages, it was a commission due this week that I kept putting back
But It's done and posted now! Full length, lined, man's coat. It took hours, but I was proud of it
