Is anyone else like me, with a pile of cut out pieces and half-finished items just waiting to be made into fabulous new clothes?
I'm planning to spend the weekend sewing and wondered if anyone else would like to join me for motivational purposes and to get some new clothes without going shopping!

oh I'm sooooo jealous, I can't sew, in fact I tried to set up my mum's 30 year old sewing machine today on my own, and all I managed to do was get the thread tangled. Whoops!
Oh well good luck with your sewing, I shall keep checking in awe as to what you all achieve.:T

oh dear, these are my 'forgotten' jobs:
finish making pretty victorian nightdress case (why!)
hem new jeans
make new cat cushions for their baskets - 8 needed
turn up sleeves & hem on blouse I started - almost can't be bothered cos it's turned out too small for me
I call it WIP - work in progress - but I really ought to join in else I won't do them. There's probably more wips that I've forgotten about too.
Thanks for this 'kick up the proverbial' Liz0 -
I've taken up 3 pairs of trousers last Monday and still need to take up 2 more pairs. I bought them last year and never had the motivation
I'm a tiny person, 5"1-5"2, and will ALWAYS need to find the motivation to take up trousers/long skirts for the rest of my life0 -
You can often find bargain sewing machines (under £5) at jumble sales, but a service can cost up to £40 so make sure it's worth it. Any old Bernina machines are worth a punt.0

I've had 5 pairs of trousers ready to take up for about 3 months. I've cut then, pinned them, but can't for the life in me remember how to to blind stitches that don't fall down!
Can anyone give me any easy written instructions?

Starlorna, it's hard to write down without pics, but I've googled for you and come up with a couple of sites:
