Thanks for thinking about September, MRSMCAWBER. I'll go with £250 again, please. I'm going to call a halt to August at the close of play on the 31st and start fresh now I've proven to myself that I *can* do this!
Spiggle - thanks for the encouragement
Well done on your healthy eating, Winky, The House Elf.
Welcome back, scotdebs.
All my plans changed this morning when I learned that my OU delivery would be today. So I cancelled everything and stayed at home until it arrived! So an NSD for me today (sig updated). I'll be getting the TV paper tomorrow as usual but shouldn't be spending any more pennies!
Time for bed. And, yes, I am a sleepy-head!Household: Laura + William-cat

hi all went to mr t today and spent £52.09 which will be included into my budget for this month but also went to mr m tonight and spent a further £21.87  which will go into sept. One good thing my fridge is well stocked that i can literally fit no more in it :rotfl: and my freezers are bursting!
Talking of mr t my local one never seems to have reductions or im not looking properly, maybe i should ask a member of staff to point me in the right direction to the shelf but i would feel slightly embarrased
Anyway ive declared in my sig and its shocking, next month i will be doing meal plans every week and more nsd's. I start work next wed its only a couple of hours a day and i get all the hols off with the kids with pay so looking forward to it :j
Mrs M can you put me down for £240 again pls
best of luck to everyone for sept and big welcome to all the newbies :beer:I will lose 2 stone by this summer!!!!!!0 -
Hard to know what to set my September budget as !!!
I work on numbers of 'people days' I have to provide food for, but DS moves out 'at some point in the second week' ready for starting Uni on 13th. So that could be anywhere from 4th to 12th
For now I'm going to assume the 10th/11th (on the basis I don't think my parents will want him too far ahead of his first day), and allow for 10 days of feeding him - but also accept I may have to adjust my budget one way or the other by a few £££s once I actually get shot of him
Mrs M - can you please put me down for £68 in SeptemberCheryl0 -
Hi everybody, this is my first post on here
There's me and dp, dd, 14 month twins and 2 cats to feed. I've no idea what I spend a month on groceries. I shop on-line as it's easier than to go to the sm with the two little ones!!! I shop weekly but also have to buy extra bread/milk every so often. I got paid yesterday but am not due for another shop for a few days so will start then. I'll try and eat the odds and sods in my freezer to clear some space. I normally shop Mr T as I thought it was cheaper than Mr S and last time I shopped with Mr A they failed to deliver to me:mad: so have stopped using them. I can't believe some of you are putting down £100 (or less) for a month's shopping...either you're just shopping for one or I'm doing something drastically wrong. I hope to live and learn from this forum. I've now got to work out how to update my signature thingy as I only joined the site yesterday. Good luck to everyone for the forthcoming month
GC: Sept: not sure yet, first time I've done this....0 -
Well thats the first shop from September budget arrived costing £83.41, this had a good few tins, cleaning items, toilet roll and kitchen roll. Some of you may recall that the girls in the office were starting a co-operative for purchasing items, well today we went to pickup our chicken fillets from the local chicken factory and they were excellent. In each box there were 27 Grade A fillets each weighing between 6 and 8 oz each (as I decided to weigh them!) and the cost of a box was £17.50, so around about 65p per fillet - an absolute bargain especially with being grade A!! We were all really pleased with them - needless to say it was chicken for everyone tonight! I bought a full box and have frozen them in packs of 2, so my shopping total so far is £101 but that will see us through for a while -just fresh stuff to buy,
Happy shopping this month folks,
SuzyEvery days a School day!0 -

I know our shop is often bad at pricing on the shelves (probally managmet not doing their job properly):rotfl:

Congratulations on the new job guccigoo, hope it goes well for you
Don't know if all Te$cos have their whoopsie counter in the same place, but in mine it's at the end of the butter/margarine/spread/lard counter
I think mine possibly never have any decent whoopsies because it's a 24hr store. I suppose, having said that mine never reduce things more than a few pence, it's possible that they do it at like midnnight, or 3 o clock in the morning or summat ridiculous, but I'm not trundling down there to find outAug11 £193.29/£240

In fact, I need to go down tomorrow to get back an overpayment from Tuesday caused by this. Was charged 45p (the first reduction price) instead of 19p (the final reduction price)..... and that's the third time it's happened in about 5 weeks
You'd think that I'd know to check the labels carefully by now - especially with working there and knowing all the pitfalls :rotfl:Cheryl0 -
