sorry to post again - but just looking through my Mr T magazine and there is a code for £5 off the first delivery order (if over £50). It is XXKDDM and needs to be used by 30 Oct, just in case it is useful to anyone else.

......so i shall look for a back pack it will probably be better for me anyway with my bad back
I have back problems too, and find a backpack MUCH better than bags I have to carry in my hands. If I'm using 'carry' bags I struggle with either 2x4pt milk or 2.5kg spuds. With my backpack I can (just - it's only a 10 minute walk home from Mr M/A!di) manage both :)

I also have an "old biddy's trolley" (my kids call it that), which is one of the 4-wheeled ones you push in front of you. I got this when I was off work for 20 months with my back, and regularly took it do a big shop at my local Mr T (a 3 mile round trip)

  • Mrs M - could you kindly put me down as having spent £562.14 for August (against a target of £450!) and also as £450 for my September target. (I can but live in hope!)

    Many thanks

... Please can some one explain to me what whoopsies are? My definition relates to my puppy and I feel I am using the word differently.! ...

    :rotfl:Hi Want2B,

Whoopsies are the over stock or items unsold but on sell by/display by dates and the sm then reduces the price. I can see where your confusion arises! :rotfl: My OH hasn't stopped laughing yet and he read your post 10 minutes ago!!! :rotfl:

    Take care,
    Spigs

P.S I should've said that I was also thoroughly confused as to what whoopsies were when I started back in March!

where do you get these whoopsies from? I always look at the reduced items in Mr T when I do my shopping but the things are never reduced more than 10 - 15%:(. Your whoopsie finds seem amazing.

I found that my local Mr S (quite a small store) would be reducing stuff about 5.30pm - but if I went in two hours later (after my slimming world class) that the (same items) would be reduced even more. fab prices of 9p / 19p to be had - mainly on fruit and veg. good reductions on meat but few and far between.

    Mr M

It's a small 'satellite' store an 8-10 minute walk from home (and where I work in the bakery ;))

Certainly within the bakery we're reduced to 50% at around 5:30pm (on loaves baked yesterday - dated today - that's been sliced and soft rolls/iced buns that are on todays date), and 25% off cream and ambient cakes (but not the jam doughnuts). 1.5 hours before store close (so 6:30 Mon / Tue / Wed / Sat, 7:30pm Thur / Fri, and 2:30pm Sun) these come down to 75%/50% off, and the 'crispy breads' start to be reduced. I go back down to the store about 40 mins before close, as the final reductions (the 9p/19p ones) are done a half hour before store close.

Thanks CW18 and Flat Eric for your whoopsie tips:T. I think that my error is that I shop early in the morning (8am). My supermarket is a 20 min drive away which I never fancy doing after the boys are in bed of an evening, I'd much rather slouch on the sofa with DH and watch TV. Might start checking out the local c*-*p if I fancy a walk one evening though - although they don't shut until 10pm so I would need to go quite late I think. Thanks for the tip though.:T
