Hello everyone, sorry I have been MIA this month. I have been distracted by visitors and looking after DD1 (who is home but not feeling very good at the moment and needing a lot of support) plus DH is in the process of applying for a new job which means we will have to move so I have spent a lot of time surfing estate agents' sites!
Anyway, I have stretched my month a bit and will be declaring on Tuesday when I take delivery of a Sainsbury's order ready for September. Back to work for me on Wednesday too - where did the summer go?
I am hoping to be under budget but won't tempt fate just yet! Will check in again on 31st. Have a good weekend everyone.

Another spend for me today of £1.78 (red onions/white onions/mushrooms) bringing total spends so far to £281.09, which is £6.09 over my £275 budget, and I fear, well, know a milk spend is inevitable, and possibly bread too.Aug11 £193.29/£240
Oct10 £266.72 /£275 Nov10 £276.71/£275 Dec10 £311.33 / £275 Jan11 £242.25/ £250 Feb11 £243.14/ £250 Mar11 £221.99/ £230 Apr11 £237.39 /£240 May11 £237.71/£240 Jun11 £244.03/ £240 July11 £244.89/ £240
Xmas 2011 Fund £2200 -
Picked up :-
pack of 6 strawberry Petit Fil0us (9p)
pack of 10 slices of chicken (9p)
tub of tuna salad (that's lunch for tomorrow sorted for just 19p :T)
block of specialist Lancashire cheese (normally way beyond my budget, but wasn't going to turn down a 462g block for 19p)
french loaf (been wanting to try this for a while, but have never seen it reduced below 49p -- tonight it was 25p)
cross-cut batard (a customer on Tuesday evening - when I did my last Whoopsie hunt - was raving about them, so figured it's worth a try at 19p)
but the best bargain of the day was two trays of cooked Topside of Beef. 79p a tray, and a combined weight of 780g. I've now split this into 8 portions of 90-105g and popped it into the freezer, so that's 8 roast beef dinners for me after DS moves out
Total spend today came to £6.30, with £2.60 of it being spent on Whoopsies with a 'real' vaue of £21.91.
The beef alone came to just £1.58 against an original cost of £11.62 !!!!
where do you get these whoopsies from? I always look at the reduced items in Mr T when I do my shopping but the things are never reduced more than 10 - 15%:(. Your whoopsie finds seem amazing.0 -
Hi all well I have just been totally engrossed in catching up on everything everyone is saying. Pls Mrs M and thanks for reminder could you put me down for £250 for September and unlike August we tend to stick to it. I have done it at £250 to be realistic if I can get it to £200 as we are away for a week I will be happy.
Am surprised with everyone saying that Mr S is cheaper now than Mr T as we shop at Mr T but always look for bargains. Last nights shop was good we had loads at Mr T inc alcohol as have visitors this weekend and with vouchers got it down to £46 were chuffed. Need to update signature as that comes out of September budget as I run from payday to payday. Still in shock on Mr S being cheaper will have to try again. Although if anyone needs cheese sauce mix Colemans is cheaper currently then Mr T's own as OH pointed out to me last night. Please can some one explain to me what whoopsies are? My definition relates to my puppy and I feel I am using the word differently.! Good Luck to everyone for september and thank you all for the useful posts and moral support.
Final note has anyone seen any money off vouchers in the paers for next weeks shopping!! : ):A Want2Bdebtfree

I agree! Whenever I go to Mr S they are reduced by around 25%, but they are often on items usually on Buy 2 for £4 kind of deals, so the reduced items aren't really worth getting.. They USED to do over 50% off but I think they got wise and realized that lots of people (including me) used to stock up on these things alone. It's a shame because I really can't imagine my supermarket has become THAT good at stock control to never have anything - they must just throw them away!

Hi Mrs M, I haven't finished August yet as I've still one more shop to do on Tuesday but could you put me down for £280 for September (4 Tuesdays) please? I'm reducing my weekly budget down to £70 after my success of the last 2 weeks, I'm hoping I can keep this up long term and not fall back into my old spends. I still can't believe how much I'm saving and I've only been part of the forum for 4 weeks! I keep saying to my husband 'what haven't I bought?, what are we missing?' I look in the cupboards but it all looks just as full and our meals haven't changed - just the bill is lower. Good luck everyone else.0
