Well I did have a spend last night after trecking around delivering orders in the rain-I felt I deserved a break from cooking! Spent 11.05 in the takeaway on 2 chickenfried rice 1 chips and 1 curry sauce. That fed 4 of us so we were still very carefull. NSD today-I will do a topup shop tomorrow. The food I bought in Tesco last week has lasted very well-still using the bread!
Soaking some chickpeas and have parboiled some potatoes to make a veggy curry tomorrow. Some of the potatoes will probably end up as potato salad as there is rather a lot when put with the chickpeas.
May make some naan bread-undecided as yet.
Soaking dried peas to make spicy pea soup again-a slightly larger amound-will serve 6 at least.I wanted to use up the last bit in the packet.
Made 2 lots of peanut butter today to refil the jars-one smooth and one crunchy with pumpkin seeds. Made 4 individual jellies.
Got a sponge flan case out of the freezer-one of my 10p ones from last winter. Have put peach slices in it and made up a jelly to set it using arrowroot as DH will not eat gelatine. I made an omellete tonight using up some of my chopped butternut squash with onion and a little ham, 4 eggs and a little milk-we shared it between 3 people with some value mixed veg(Mr T) and some smash as I was in a hurry)
Tomorrows menu will be curry Rice and possibly naan with jelly or flan for desert. In between for snacks/breakfast it will be toast and peanut butter/marmite/porrige. Must top up bread milk butter eggs tomorrow. Ive also thawed out one of my very cheap steaks which I will cook for myself at some time tomorrw maybe for tea with a little stirfry veg or something.
I did treat myself to a few things in Boots today as dd gave me 3x £5 no 7 vouchers so I got 2 eyepencils and some base coat nail enamel-that was about £6.25. I will include this in grocery-off the top of my head Ive spent about £50 max this week inc £20 on petrol but not including some college fees for dd and some storage containers to pack up kitchen stuff in as we are tearing the kitchen apart! My monthly budget is until 31st so I still have 4 days inc today to last out. As long as I don't blow it later buying unecessary stuff I will be fine.Actual food this week(inc takeaway) has only been £22 so I am amazed at what Ive managed.Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0 -

SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -
I have a quiet weekend planned. Am planning on making a sweet potato and mushroom curry later (for the freezer) and we are having a mini mixed grill tonight for tea (m&$ steak from their dine in for 2) and sausages served with (m&$ veg) and jackets. Pudding if needed will be apple pie. Tomorrow, I'm making a beef curry which I intend we eat on Monday evening as we have a busy day Monday thus plan to prepare something in advance so there is no temptation to eat out / get a take away.
I also will sit down and finally plan my menu ! I don't imagine I will be able to do plan breakfast, lunch and tea for the whole month but certainly I can plan my evening meals as best as possible.
I might be visiting the supermarket later but only for a few odd bits and no extravagant or unnecessary buys allowed !0 -
Been to Tesco, spent £20.83.
Declaring at £206.64 for August, thats £18.36 under budget!November NSD's - 70 -
Spose I better declare as I'm not going to buy any food and have been paid! Just scraped in but still have LOADS left so shouldn't need too much for the first couple of weeks. I wonder if I should go for lower next month as I have a week away on hotel expenses.....
Ok...... So.... Declaring at £179.72
Mrs Mc Will you put me down for £180 again next month please?Feb GC: £200 Spent: £190.790
