  • Just having a break from my cleaning/tidying frenzy today;)
Am still in my PJs but have been busy, up the attic and tidying up, but still loads to do:o My Xmas decs are so disorganised, every year I mean to sort them but just pile it all back up the attic each year - so have made a start and threw a few tatty old bits out:T

House is looking rather festive - tree is up, although I wasn't happy last night, took everything off it, tried white lights on - they weren't long enough - so took them off and re-did it all as it was to start with:rotfl:

The letting agents are doing another bl00dy checjk up tomorrow - they last did one in September - every 3 months? Why?!?! Last time, they wrote me a letter to tell me the grass was a bit long, could I cut it - I told them how I'd been in hospital etc and my Mum had been gardening and it was hard to find the time - they really weren't bothered though:mad: So, must make sure everything is spotless...good timing really for me to get sorted before Christmas.

I need to get off to college library tomorrow and find some psychology texts for the essay so I can start....eeeeek:eek:

I wanted to do an Asda shop, to come this week - but veryy oddly they have no slots whatsoever from now until Xmas...why?!!?:( SO I shall just get myself to Tesco, can't justify paying their delivery when it's only 10mins away;)

Ok, must do some more tidying up....getting there slowly:)

The house is looking much more neat and tidy again, things in their proper places and unwanted decorations and empty boxes back up the attic.

Have cleaned the bathroom, dusted bedrooms, hoovered everywhere and tidied away a lot of clutter. Lounge is lovely and sparkly, very festive!

Have bought a few bits for girls for Xmas too today, just stocking fillers. I need another thing for dd1 to match what I've bought DD2...they're home now and I showed her a gilet thing she's after. I managed to find some on ebay cheaper than the £98 one she's seen in town:eek: So I show her, she says is it for Xmas? I say yes and she moans as she wants it now....so I have stomped out, slammed the door and don't want to speak to the ungrateful little ratbag for a while:mad:

Need to do some ironing tonight, keep the place tidy and get ready for the morning....only 2 weeks to go:beer: (til we break up i mean!)

Arghh and that damn money still isn't back in the bank - almost 3 weeks ago now, I've rung 3 or 4 times and always get told it's on its way:mad:
I rang up on Thurs I think it was - but there was an automated message saying due to the weather no one could speak to me...arghh how hard it is to get my money back:mad:

Girls are both giving up gym club from January, actually prob from now - both love gym but get bored with what they do at the club, so at £4.50 each per week I don't mind if they stop - saving me £92 each full term. So my club account won't need as much put in it any more, just cheerleading which is usually about £50 each half term for both of them.

Still can't get through to the bank - rang at lunchtime, it sadi a 10min wait, so I waited...and waited and had to give up and go back to work - grrrr, I only want my £95 back:mad:

Nipped out to Argos after work and returned the fairy lights that were not warm white colour, got a fab striped rug for the lounge reduced to £35 - the lounge looks so much brighter, I love it! Also got a boggle game for the girls for Xmas reduced to £15 from £25 and a bauble wreath reduced to £4.50...bargains:T

Nipped to college library and grabbed a few psychology books to get looking through for the essay - which is officially due this week, she gave me til next week but I'll never do it even by then, arghh. This weekend is the work Xmas do on Friday and on Saturday my sis and family are coming to stay the night....so no work will be done then and will prob be too tired on Sunday by the time they go. Must get something done this week so I don't get in a panic again.

Just writing my shopping list - going to T's tomorrow seeing as Asda have no slots available. I emailed about it - they replied today saying it was due to the weather but as from today slots should be there - but they're not. So Asda have lost me to Tesco this time:rotfl:

Also the itunes gift cards should be on Tesco clubcard from today...but they're not available yet. For £12.50 of vouchers I can get a £25 card...perfect, I have about £80 of vouchers that I only ever use a few of around DD2's bday for a theme park day out. So I'm eagerly awaiting the itunes deal to start:)

  • Eeeeeek the desktop pc isn't working...it kept freezing then this morning refused to come on at all. Just when DD1 needed her history project for school printing out:eek: So wrote her a note explaining...grrr damn machine.

So, I have been very techie this afternoon and removed the HDD from it. I have a USB cable that plugs into it and then it acts as an external drive, so I've managed to save all DD's work, my iTunes library and photos to my laptop now;) I'm not desperately technical but am happy to have alook online and then have a go!!

Now need to decide whether it's worth getting the pc fixed...or just packing it off up the attic. I am tempted to do that as we all have a laptop...plus the house is small and to be able to take away the desk where the pc is would free up a nice bit of space in the dining room - or it'd free up the desk for us to work at...hmmmm:D But, it's a good pc, fast with a lot of storage so be useful to keep it...oh decisions eh?!

Am feeling a bit grumpy as it's the work Xmas do tonight and I've had to decide not to go because of my dodgy tum:( Luckily my friend's husband is going instead of me so she's giving me my £30 back, so not lost anything, just would love to be going:(

Had booked in the ex to come and sit with girls tonight, he said he'd buy them a takeaway so when I decided I wasnt going I thought it a bit mean to deprive them of their takeaway....so he's still buying them it and nipping in...oh joy;)

We have my sister, hub and girls coming tomorrow for the night - we may go into town to see the lights and the market. X Factor final and some wine - fab:beer:

    Hi Milly

Just popping my head over your fence to see how things are going. That's a shame you didn't feel up for the Xmas do, but hope you have a good night all the same. I'm having a wild night in - bought mum a bottle of Shloer (her fave) and it was on buy one get one free so going to treat myself to a bottle of grape juice :D then a hot chocolate and get on with my knitting. Oh that's the life! :p

Maybe you should pack the PC away for now and you'll know it's always in the attic if you ever need it again. Can worry about getting it fixed another time. Lots of space for Christmas - that's what would really appeal to me! Our place is so small space is at a premium! ;)

Have you been lurking on the small things thread???

    xx

    Evening Mrs :hello:
I saw the Shloer on offer today too - I love the stuff, must buy some to have in over Xmas;)
I think I might do that with the pc - we can manage without it and the free space would be lovely. I do need a new printer as ours is old and prints quite bad quality now - so would be better to spend on that than on fixing the pc probably.

And yes I've been lurking on the small things thread - I just lost interest in posting for a while and it didn't feel as chatty as it used to - apart ffrom DNMS and yourself, people didn't seem to interact and I loved that bit about it;) Have noticed more people noticing things about others recently...maybe i should show my face again:o Also I seem to have taken my eye off the MSE-ness recently, probably cos of the student loans I have this year things aren't as tight, so I've relaxed a little...oops, that sounds bad.

Well, am just about ready to drop, I want my bed:rotfl:

    Night night xx
