    Hi Milly

Another phone phobic like me ;) hate them and do not get me started on mobiles  I love my mobile....for texting! Means I can keep chatting to my friends without actually speaking to them

That's good news health wise, it will take time as they say it can take up to a year to fully recover from surgery; pain wise you sound much better. Definitely much better pain wise:D I'm just impatient, I expected a full recovery by now...I forget it was a big op:o

    Shame about the no-go.

Feeling so much better now although I have lost 2 stone, I put on loads of weight when I broke my ankle & was unable to run, sensible eating was the way feel so much better but none of my clothes fit.

Did you watch X factor & Phil Collins? I watche X Factor then the end of Casualty, then Michael McIntyre's comedy thing - that was very funny:T Then bed at 10...lovely! Feeling quite refreshed after 2 early nights;)

    Must get dressed now!

Ok, it's very hard to be MSE when Unis and Student loan people keep throwing money at me:o Had a letter from the Uni today to say I'm recieving an additional £1200 in 3 installments as a bursary payment. I didn't apply for it, but am entitled to it, I didn't know:cool:
This year I'll have more money than ever in recent years, which seems mad.

Having been to university back in the day (grants, remember them?:D) I'm not sure whether you get to keep any of this money. I assume you have to pay back loans but maybe not bursaries? Is your employer paying anything towards your fees milly? It makes me so angry that young people are being encouraged to borrow so much money, as if it's condoning debts with all the misery that can cause.

Sorry, rant over. Hope evryone's having a good day.

The bursary is to keep, as is half of the student loan funding - that's grants which are non-repayable. The other half of funding is maintenance loan (about £4k) which is repayable....as is the £3200 tuition fee loan I get. Last year I wasn't entitled to the tuition fee loan so my dad paid...if he hadn't offered then I'd probably not have been able to do the course. £3k is extortionate for the tuition I actually get - I'm only in one day a week, 9.30 til about 4...and even then some days are either half days or out on visits...so how they justify charging £3k is beyond me:mad:

Anyway, Asda just arrived so off to put my shopping away:D

  • And no, my employer aren't paying anything - I didn't ask but think their response would be that my job is only a level 2 post so they dont need me to have any higher qualifications. They did pay for my NVQ3 when I did it, but I don't get paid for being a level 3 TA, even tho I have the qualification, as my post (as they all are) only requires level 2....another grrrrrr:mad:

Hey Milly, where are you?? :D
    Mortgage Total: £50,720/ £75,000
    Mortgage Overpayments Pot £1587
  • Hey Milly, where are you?? :D

Oh I'm still here...just neglected my diary recently:o I'm being reasonably MSE, but just not as disciplined as I used to be...so just avoided posting here about it:o

I mean....I have booked Sky+HD to be installed tomorrow....that's so NOT very MSE...but my excuse is that I never go out....plus they're putting multi-room upstairs in girls room, so that'll be lovely. They have a nice big tv up there - just right now it picks up no channels at all...so not much use.
    See - I can justify my spending:rotfl:

    Hi Milly

How are you and the girls?

Sky+HD is great and my hubby loves it, I do think that you need to treat yourself and as you say you never go out so enjoy.

Good to hear from you milly. I think you and the girls deserve your treat (from the entertainment budget I'm sure:D). At least you paid all your debts first:T Enjoy!
  • Oi stop neglecting your diary...there are some of us with no life who look forward to your updates lol

Seriously I hope you get motivated again, you do so well with your food budget and paying for all the hobbies etc and well done on the Sky HD nothing wrong with getting that if you don't have debt and can easily fit it in your budget..so enjoy x

    Hellooooo again lovely people:T
I have been rubbish - even though I am on this site many times a day, I just couldn't be bothered to post on my diary...but I must try again and keep my motivation up. Think I shall try and post lists on here so I can try and keep on track and busy.

So, what's been happening....?? Not a lot to be honest:D Sky HD is now in the lounge and I do love it. The previous tenant here only had a Sky connection, not Sky+ so I couldn't use our Sky+ box to record something that we weren't watching. So, I'm now loving beiong able to set the box to record stuff and not have to keep the same channel on! HD is lovely - it makes Stricly very sparkly and beautiful...think I'm sounding like a broken record going on about the picture quality:rotfl: Girls love having a working tv in their room too - so all of us happy...got to be worth that:D

Work is good (crazily busy though) and college is just the same. Hoping I can get on top of it all soon.

Money wise....doing fine. Student loan arrived on Monday so has been moved to savings...feeling a bit flush though, so mustn't get into bad habits. Hardly spent a bean this week - shopping came last Sun from Asda, £67 and still quite well stocked here. All I bought during the week was a couiple of cuppas at college on Wed and top up shopping in T's last night...oops and a few bits of reduced stationery:o

Looking forward to a lovely evening tonight - girls are here so we're having a treat of Domino's. I have loads of vouchers that came through the door, bogof or half price over £30 order, so might get 2 pizzas with that and a few bottles of coke to make it £30...then it'll go to £15...much better:T Then lots of tv - Strictly, X Factor and Michael McIntyre.

Tomorrow we're going into town, the model lions from the summer in the area are all on display - dd2 liked them so might go see. Also need a few bits in the shops. Now girls wear skirts to school they're getting through tights at the rate of knots....not impressed;)

SO, think I'll go and have a quick tidy up then do some work....I will, I promise;)
