Healthy and wealthy - that will be me!

Hello and welcome to my new diary - my 3rd one I think:o
I've not had the most successful of years so far but am now on the up...hence the new diary:D
Quick bit about myself....I'm a 30-something mum of 2 girls, who are 13 and 11. I live on my own with them, work as a TA in the local primary and am also doing a foundation degree for TAs. My rubbish year so far is with regard to my health - I have Crohn's disease and it flared up recently, causing me to have most of the year so far off work. I had an operation in May to remove a big part of bowel, so bye-bye to the sore part!! Felt awful after the op, took longer than I expected to feel vaguely normal. I'm now feeling much, much better and want to regain my oomph and motivation:D
I missed tons of Uni work due to feeling rough and not being in work, so now have a big job to get the work done so I can go into the 2nd year. I am a huge procrastinator and will do anything to put off doing my work....daft:p
So, healthy and wealthy....I hope so! I don't have much debt left now, but need to keep on top of my spending so I don't run any up. My lovely student loans helped to clear the debts, I just have Next and Littlewoods left.
I need to keep my diary to motivate and organise me - I find posting on here helps me keep spending as low as possible and give me a boost!
Please come and join me (and kick me up the backside if I'm slacking;))

There's a good start to my new wealthy me - completed a £3 survey so that'll be in my Paypal account in a couple of days:T
As I work in a school, I'm on my summer hols now...well, I haven't worked since mid-May as been off sick, but it's good to have the girls off with me now!
So, must make the most of the time off. Have had a good day sorting the girls' room - 2 bags of clothes for jumble, some in recycling and a lovely tidy closet now. Had a go at my room too, moved the drawers and wardrobe so room for a shelf unit, which I've reserved at Argos - £13 value one no less;)
Might take the girls swimming tomorrow, they've not done much today. Or youngest wants to go looking for the lions that are all over the town:DI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -

Happy new diary!!
We seem to have a lot in common, I also have 2 girls aged 8 and 5, i've trained to be a TA, but don't have a job yet due to ill health which is ( u guessed it!) Ulcerative Colitis (nearly the same as Chrons).
I know exactly how it feels to be ill with these horrible diseases and i wish you all the best.LBM 04/10:j

Happy new diary Milly, I hope you're health continues to improve and those debts in your signature are tiddly now, can't wait to see them gone :T :TMortgage Total: £50,720/ £75,000

I must get a meal plan for next week done and then do my shopping list.
Myself and the girls are off to Devon with my mum and stepdad this weekend until Tuesday which will be fab, so we havent much food in mow. I'm bringing my 12yr old niece back too for a few days so had better think of food the 3 of them will all like;)
I've meal planned for a couple of years now - I don't know how I managed before, I have to know what I'm cooking each evening:p How hard it'd be for me to get to dinner time and have to thin of something....I need to know in advance!! I bought a second freezer a few weeks ago which has been brilliant - I can now have bread and rolls in the freezer which I'd never had room for before. I put £220 in my 'grocery account each month and all food comes out of that - I was bang on the £220 for July - so must keep in budget for August. Might be harder with girls off, but we'll have a good go!:)I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -

Hi Caz...your name is spookily similar to my 'real-life' name too:)
Yes UC so similar to Crohn's - can all be quite horrible can't it? Hopefully now I've had a big lump removed (of Crohn's, not the ex-hub;)), I shall feel so much better. I hate that I've missed so much work and can't wait to get back to my little Y1 children. I hope your health lets you find a job soon:oI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -

Welll......Next isn't quite that small as I had lots ordered in the sale. But, loads was my sister's and I've sent more back than have actually kept - so will update that total when I know what my balance is...right now I haven't a clue;) And my plan's to pay it all as soon as I see the balance anyway - I still have some of April's student loan in my savings. I had been keeping it in case I wanted a holiday, but we're not going away. Well, going to Devon on Sat, but lovely Mum is paying for the hotel as a treat for recovering from that grotty op:T
Gotta love parents eh?!I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Hi Milly & Girls
Shiny new diary, great to hear that you are feeling much better after your op.
Excellent news regarding your uni work, this will give you extra time to prepare while the girls are away.
I see you will be down in my neck of the woods at the weekend, hope the weather is good for all of you and you have a fabulous time.
Signature is looking good, you have worked really hard to clear this and must be feeling very proud.
