Make sure you actually get the points! I have bought a fair amount of this over the last few days and twice I have not been credited with the points on the conditioner, this has happened with the pink one and the white one. On both occasions the conditioner was scanning at less than a pound despite the SEL stating £1.49, but I asked at the CS desk and was credited with the missing points by the lovely CS lady at my store. Great deal though!

Apologies for going a bit off-topic, but

    Holiday Inn Midtown 57th Street , 3 nights 400pts + £260 pp, + flights @ 5000pts pp - that one?

I've had a bit of a play, and that hotel has not shown available for any of the (random) dates I've tried.

I'd give them a ring to see if they can tell you what dates are available.

yes that is the one we were playing round with too! thanks :)
  • Triple points.

According to Tesco the triple points vouchers do not mean triple points on your eligible spend plus the new extra points, it is triple points on your eligible spend instead of double, that's it.

I assumed using a triple points voucher meant I would get 3 times my spend, plus 1 times my spend as new extra points but not so, it is just 3 times your spend.

To my mind that isn't really a triple points voucher while the double points offer is running, the triple points offer replaces the double points offer.
  • Picked up a flyer instore today.

Extra point on whisky, sushi, finest lentil and tomato soup, finest chocolates and tesco washing up liquid. (Quite stingy amounts though)

And some larger numbers of points from Tesco Direct.
  • :D Me too! Most mornings I find between 2 and 6 cans lying around, and as I walk past Tesco anyway, I stop off at the recycling centre on my way home and get rid of them straightaway (unless there's an odd number, then I hang on to the last one so as not to waste it, as you get 1 point for 2 cans).

I do get a bit embarrassed about picking them up though, I tend to have a quick look and check no one is around :o

What sort of cans do they accept, I take it they're drinks cans but are they steel or aluminium, or does it not matter?

aluminium only and you need to test them on the side using a magnet, not on the top by the ringpull.

I think they accept both, but only give 1/2 point per aluminium can.

I have been doing this as a project with my work - we collect cans from places they would not normally be recycled (road verges, etc) to make the office essentially carbon neutral - the amount of electricity saved by recyclig 1 can is impressive. But points take a long time to collect: 100 cans = 50 points or £2 in (x4) clubcard deals. However, as your improving your neighbourhood, and the environment, its not a bad thing.

I have spent about 9 months doing a months search, linked to the company, and collected about 1500 cans... so £30 in (x4 clubcard points). Not so much, but its for nothing, you get exercise and do a bit a good. My advice if you want to do this neighbourhood style collecting - a pair of gloves and hi-vis jacket makes you look less like the local drunks who do it for beer money!!!

up to now I have only found drinks cans suitable. Note: Uncollected fanta phone credit, CokeZone promotions etc occasionally turn up for a little extra bonus.

PS Whats funny is now, when I have not been on my collection walks, I actually notice how untidy the place gets!
PSS Also, you get a social history in drinks cans. the cheap energy drinks that asda etc sell 3 for £1 turn up everywhere
PSSS even the mini cans count as 1, and you find hundreds of lager cans knocking about. I know some people cut these in two but I can not be bothered. a) ricks cutting yourself, b) i do not care that much.
PSSSS If you seriously want to do it see if you have any neighbours with overflowing recycling bins - if yes, offer to take their cans away.

Rovgers - I know what you mean about being embarrassed - sometimes i see them and if there are too many people I leave them and pick up later if I pass again. However, this is when I am not in my hi-vis vest - if you wear that people assume you are council or such like... lol

We have about 1 month before the cut off date - really need some accessible deals - would like to get another 1000 points on account by then. Anyone know of anything upcoming? Could do with a wine/CD style promotion to boast things!

Come on Tesco ... do your worst, I mean best... :-s

Was just going to post about the washing up liquid!!:D

It's only 15 extra points, but if you need to stock up for work like I do it's better then nothing.
And the lemon fragranced one only costs 70p at our Tesco.
