Approved Foods thread

My lovely AF parcel arrived today - almost like Christmas unpacking it! Everything spot on, all fragile bottles well bubble-wrapped and laid on a bag of polystyrene beans for extra safety. So well done scott 1 for that. I was impressed that AF even gave me a credit automatically on my order total, for a broken bottle in the past which I had forgotten about. (Wasn't worth having it repaid to Paypal at the time).
If anyone is interested the de-identified mint sauce is Mr T's and the Cheese & Onion crisps 6pack are B*dg*ns. The Giovanni Xtra V olive oil 750ml is brilliant and excellent value, as is the Lotus blended sesame oil. My pantry has now overflowed to the garage!0 -

Good reduced cereals just now. We got this http:// http://www.approvedfood.co.uk/breakfast/natures_path_organic_ginger_and_cashew_commotion_cereal_350g ginger and cashew, which is 2 for £1 and my teenage son likes it, ( he likes expensive clusters). It's a mix of bran flakes, nuts and clusters. My order was good this week, mainly cereal, bottles of 7 up and juice for son's lunches and also marshmallows, which are the rubbery fake kind, flump style, rather than the classic ones.0

Humm - ordered the 5kgs of Mint chocolate assortment - one 2.5 bag of the mint crisp medallions and one 2.5 kg bag of a white truffle which may or may not be mint. Most certainly not an assortment as pictured on the web site - I'm not impressed. Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

I was intrigued to see ' GEO Sprouts' of different kinds on offer- cress, fenugreek, mung beans etc as couldn't imagine how you could sell sprouting seeds. Anyway, I did a bit of research and it is actually packets of seeds to sprout at home. Maybe that was obvious, but not to me! They are around 2 packs for £1 and if I were making up an order I would put some in, but it would take a lot of seeds to make up the weight for posting!
I see they are also selling oven gloves and aprons which are on Amazon for £9.99, at £3.99- again I would get some if I was ordering, but I only just got a load of drinks and we need to work our way through them first.0 -
This is a fantastic site for cutting down your shopping budget. It allows you to still have the extras at very cheap prices. Ive just got 6 packs of tortillas for a pound etc Well worth a look.
Also wanted to say rosspa is a new online grocery shopping site which ive found can help me get good quality friut and veg. Between these two sites I can feed a family of four for between 35 and 50 pounds a week.0 -

Most things are after the Best Before dates. Dates are clearly stated on the descriptions if you are worried about such things , but I have never had anything from them that has been inedible due to age. Any problems I have had with them are the occasional thing broken in transit , but has been sorted very quickly with excellent customer service.0
