I think the texture is better additional doesn't fall apart and go mushy. I got my big bags when they had gone down to £1. 99.
I think with dpd it is very dependent on your local depot. I find their text system works really well and I like knowing which hour of the day they are coming.
I think you are completely right with DPD and your local depot. I have ordered previously up to the 25KG weight and the guy was all over the place.
25KG isn't a feather but it's not really that heavy and if you are a delivery driver you should be able to lift it pretty easily IMO.
I have never had any Penne or indeed any dried pasta fall apart or go mushy. It might just be that I cook it till al dente and then add it to the sauce which finishes off the cooking, gently.0 -
My first order arrived yesterday,:j two big boxes. DS1 and DS2 were very excited unpacking the goodies, it was christmas day all over again. Very pleased as everything was there however one bag of flour had a rip but luckily we spotted this before it created a mess.
I mainly ordered the drinks and the fruit and nut snacks for packed lunches. Also ordered some gluten free products, these are sooooo expensive in the supermarket.0 -
I think the postage charges forces you to spend more money too.
Yesterday I spent £50 on Asda but actually buying things I wanted and needed. Delivery cost me £3 within a 2 hour period.
If I am honest the only "real" bargains I have had from AF are the cashew nuts on my first order at 3 X 250G for 99p - a crate of 24 tonic waters for 99p - when they turned up - and recently the Asda extra special sponge puds which I think were £1.99 for 6 when I bought them
Nowadays I think some of the prices are offensive. For example I will never pay more than 10pfor a packet of crisps as they are always on offer for that price or less, somewhere.
Dan does out of date crisps at something like 6 for 99p - it's insulting IMO.
He must pay absolute pennies for some of the things he stocks that would only end up in landfill. Am also getting quite annoyed with the constant emails for rubbish "deals",
Good luck to the guy but personally I find it all a bit if a false economy now,
A lost customer!0 -

heartily agree with you on all that. Another lost customer here (and I used to buy quite frequently!)0 -
I just got a drinks order through. Yes, my teenage son could drink water, but he keeps on wasting money on drinks in school. And I could find trashy drinks elsewhere... But these are really nice drench type drinks, 5 for £1. And I could make up squash for him every day. But he feels one of the boys with a bought drink. And going out for the day it saves us lots.0

i also have decided to stop shopping at Approved food for the
following reasons
to often items delivered are split - they always refund, but dont like
clearing up the mess it has made.
i dont think many of the prices are that good, compared to offers
avaialble in supermarkets
to many snacks, chocolate, crisps on site and for short date items
i think the price is to high
will be sticking to supermarket and emptying my over stocked cupboardsPractising Scrooge and stingy old miser.0 -
Never ordered from them before .. Just got my dispatch notice for tomorrow (5th) .. I am just wondering whats in the box?
For a £1 i thought i would have punt at it .. I had some pennies in paypal ..0 -
Thanks, just ordered one, i hope it will be nice for £ 6.25 delivered
Think you may be disappointed. From experience it is just their way of getting rid of surplus rubbish stock.
They may make it better to sucker you in and make you come back seeing that you only ordered that.
Please let us know what you got for your £6.25 when it arrives0 -
