  • Approved Food have some unusual (for adults only) stock at the moment, if you have a stag night or hen party coming up in the near future it may be worth a look.
  • The bags of packing peanuts they have started using recently are the cornstarch ones so can be composted if you don't need them as packing material for any items you post yourself. Technically they are edible too but I wouldn't recommend eating them as #1 they don't taste that nice & #2 you don't know what they have been in contact with so could harbour bacteria.
The simple way to check wether packing peanuts are polystyrene or cornstarch if you are not sure is to place one in hot water, the cornstarch ones will shrink drastically or possibly dissolve completely in a few seconds the polysterene ones will remain unchanged.

The polystyrene packing peanuts are recyclable however very few places accept them as the recycling process for polystrene is very specialised so there are only a few places equipped to deal with it.
thank goodness for that my cat got hold of one chewed it before i could take it off him

Please, please AP don't send me another box of those foot things free with my order. Seriously, what am I going to do with 24 'comfortable' foot inserts?

I have received several packets & all of them have been taken off my hands by women who insist on wearing uncomfortable ill fitting shoes (high heels in particular). As has already been said charity shops will gladly accept them too.

I gave my to my MIL who only wears either flat or low wedges.

She used the gel inserts in them when she went to London for a few days (lots of walking) and she couldn't thank me enough, said they were fantastic.
