I got a lucky box the other day and was quite happy with it. There were 6 packs of crisps, small bottle of squash, bottle of something like shloer, choc whip mix stuff, big bag of mixed mint sweets and a couple of other things. Probably about a fiver's worth and most of it nice stuff we could use.

I placed my first order late on Monday night and it arrived this afternoon, less than 48 hours later...excellent service! I left a note on my door asking the delivery man to leave the parcel with a neighbour as I was at work and he did.
Everything I've ordered has arrived and I am really impressed with all of it. Unfortunately I didn't know about the lucky bags until after placing my order but will add one onto my next order. I'm not sure when that will be as we have a ton of food to get through first! :D
  • How do you get free delivery please?

Personally I don;t think your missing much, I've never been impressed by the contents of a lucky box. I do order them if I don't need the space for my own shopping but they are passed straight onto my next door neighbour who has a very poor diet & is pleased to receive a box full of sweets & snackfoods for a quid.

They sometimes offer free delivery but it is unpredictable when they will offer it & there is no guarantee they will have products you want when they do offer free delivery.
They do have a section called 'discount shipping', if you order any of the items in that section then you get your delivery charges reduced by however much per item it says in the product description. There is a bit in the shopping cart which shows your total delivery discount for any of these products you buy.
They also have a shipping trial running at the moment which goes along the lines of if your order is over 25kg & costs £35 or more then they knock off £2.25 from the delivery cost when you get to the checkout page.

So if you placed an order for between 25-50kg of goods which came to over £35 delivered to mainland UK (normally £7.50 shipping) they would knock off £2.25 because it was over £35, if you had also ordered enough products from the discount shipping section to amount to a £5.25 delivery discount then your order would be delivered free. The only other way is to wait until they offer free shipping for a weekend & hope they have items you want at the time.

Seeing as there seems to be a variety of Online Clearance stores I am wondering why there isn't a dedicated thread for them?

Have been trying to find out who they are, and how they compare, seems a bit unfair to just have one thread dedicated to one company on this subject.

Or maybe there IS a thread, but I can't find it :/

Any help would be appreciated :)

BTW, have been looking at Approved Foods, Food Bargains, Big Brands for Less and Swinco, are there any others?

Totally agree with you pipk62, there was a short dated website thread started by a regular mse user and approved foods customer searching for other online websites. That thread did have the above websites and to my knowledge there are no others. (Please correct me if im wrong). For some unknown reason the whole thread got deleted. I and others lost a lot of posts.

There's plenty of variety like you say and it does seem unfair to have one company monopolise and capitalise when there are others with better products and better prices.

Give you a tip though, keep impartial as you will be suspected of being the owner(s) of the site even though you most probably are not.
