Seeing as there seems to be a variety of Online Clearance stores I am wondering why there isn't a dedicated thread for them?

Have been trying to find out who they are, and how they compare, seems a bit unfair to just have one thread dedicated to one company on this subject.

Or maybe there IS a thread, but I can't find it :/

Any help would be appreciated :)

BTW, have been looking at Approved Foods, Food Bargains, Big Brands for Less and Swinco, are there any others?
Approved Food is one of the best known short dated food sites hence the long discussion here.

    The Bigbrandsforless thread is here:
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2782320

Foodbargains is mentioned in numerous threads but they are all quite short like this:
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1728565

Other newer sites such as Swinco & bargainbrandfoods.co.uk only tend to get mentioned in existing threads nobody has started a thread specifically about them as far as I am aware.

There are a few threads which list links for multiple short dated food sites but I don't think there is a thread where they are actually compared you could always start such a thread if you wanted to.

I don't think there has been foul play Hopelessly Hopeful, and thanks to Frugal_shopper it does seem that I was wrong, there ARE threads regarding the others.

However, as Frugal_shopper also pointed out there isn't a generic thread for all, which means, amongst other things, that comparisons aren't particularly easy to do.

The problem I find with MSE is that it's very successful, :T and being very successful there are a lot of posts, and as there are a lot of posts it does become time consuming to search through the site.

I am grateful to this site, and to you all for the time and effort put into it, but there is just so much information.

Anyway, that said, another point made was that I could start a thread, which is true, however I wanted to see if there were others, and whether there was something whereby someone could keep up with current offers and price differences between these sites, as well as seeing if any new companies had started.

I also don't want to add to any clutter, and for it to be easily findable.

Know just what you mean and glad you got sorted. Always better to ask than complain I find. Thank goodness for the site, for the search function and for subscription tool. As you say victim of the success. Don't worry about the clutter, if we are afraid of making mistakes we never move forward. The lovely mods also help with the tidy up.

    Have a good weekend everyone.

  • .....I have had this email alert

    WEEKEND DEAL
Spend Over £35 on goods and get a 10% discount and second box shipped for free*
Valid from Friday the 22nd April till Sunday the 24th April (10pm)

*applies to the National Rate 1 customers only - other shipping zones get £2.25 of there shipping

It seems the 10% dicount is only taken off of the delivery charge on this occassion not the whole order so if you put in a particularly big order or you include lots of delivery discount items you may end up with free delivery but won't necessarily receive the full 10% discount you are expecting.

Remember you can also use the code from the MSE newsletter to receive 20% off of any chocolate products you buy from Approved food this weekend.
Just enter choc20 in the discount code box before checking out. Further details about this code can be found here:

    Hi

    Thanks for the tips.

Hadn't seen the chocolate discount. Ordered £35 with only 70p delivery discount items but still got free shipping.

Hope you are having a lovely Easter

I would email them & complain if it was me even if it was only a small amount of money involved, the code published in the mse newsletter should of been honoured. They will probably refund you the difference if you do get in touch with them.
