I have just made my first order with Approved Foods after hearing good things on here about them and just wondered how quick they are at delivery. The estimated dispatch date I have got is between Fri-Wed and I just wondered if I am more likely to receive it nearer the Friday or the Wednesday.

I do live in a house (as opposed to a flat with communal doors) so it is not a huge problem if they have to leave the parcel but I am off work Thurs-Sun so I was hoping it would arrive when I am more likely to be at home.

picking time can vary greatly depending on how busy they are.

Order I placed recently on the Saturday of the August bank holiday weekend, was picked on the Tuesday and delivered Wednesday
On other ocassions it has taken a full week between ordering and delivery

Assuming AF still use City Link, they generally send you an email the day before delivery, and you have an option (though not tried it myself ) to change delivery day.

They use a variety of different delivery companies. If you are lucky and get DPD they provide an almost real time tracking of when to expect delivery. If you are unlucky and get UK Mail then your delivery will arrive totally unannounced - or an email stating your delivery is due to be delivered today a couple of hours after it has arrived.
  • I got ukmail. Just a card through the door, didn't even have my name on so was quite suspicious. Organised re delivery though and they did come on the day I'd re arranged. I ordered early hours of Monday, they tried to deliver thurs. Although my AP account said it was still being picked.
    Prob not much help. :D
  • What has happened to the updating of orders and tracking systems? Since the move of premises I have had 3 orders. Non of them has progressed beyond "picking" on my home page (though the boxes did turn up).
I ordered on Monday night and got the usual "track your order here" message. I have been checking regularly. Nothing happened when I clicked it so I assumed the delivery company did not have the parcel yet. (estimated delivery between Thursday and Monday). I`ve had no further emails from AF or the delivery people but got home to find my family unpacking biscuits and crisps!

I have just had an email explaining that their warehouse move was expensive, but expansion is the only way forward (the swansong of how many businesses?), and that as they lose money on delivery charges, these will go up by 75p. They are either telling fibs, or being really conned by their couriers.

I'd be surprised if this doesn't lose them customers.
  • I have also received the e mail. With delivery charges increasing to £6 minimum I doubt I will be using them again. I have found that often, what can appear to be a bargain is not so when the delivery costs are factored in. That together with the unnecessary, out of date 'junk' that inevitably finds its way into my basket makes it not so beneficial, financially or otherwise.

Also, the last couple of deliveries have been a nightmare - no tracking available and huge, heavy boxes left with distant neighbours whom I have never met despite notes being left on my door saying not to leave with anyone else - all very embarrassing!!!
