What did you buy that made you sick
I didn't think they sold perishables. They really only sell packet stuff and perishables tend to have a use by rather than best before - they don't sell anything with a use by dateI am a Mortgage Adviser

You can contact email address on the site. I had an item missing from my delivery and had an apology and a refund of that item in about 2 hoursI am a Mortgage Adviser

If there was any kind of contact address on their website, i would have contacted them to complain.

Ordered from them a few times quite a while ago and on one order I had some drinks that had broken, I contacted them and was given an instant refund.
Just placed another order and 'IF' anything was wrong I would not hesitate to contact them.Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0 -
I've been placing orders with them for years and on the rare occasion that something is damaged they offer a refund or credit very quickly. Their customer service really is excellentGC 2023 June £72/500 NSDs 1/100

Am I the only one to think that Approved Food have become a bit of a joke recently ?
Currently they are selling various short dated items (eg Hale and Hearty date Flapjacks £2.85) when they are cheaper at the regular price in Tescos £2.50.
This is not an isolated example - used to really like them and you could get some good deals - but now, why bother ? :mad:0 -
Same here , no longer a site for bargains IMO.0

Have to agree, I can spend ages looking through the site and the savings do not seem to be much if any (in date from supermarkets can be cheaper or almost a similar price) and then add the £5.99 delivery you end up with very little, if any at all savings. The last few times I have looked I end up coming away from the site, buying nothing.
So given the time it takes to search the site you are well looking for offers and savers locally.Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0 -
Hi, Just adding my thoughts. I made two orders with Approved foods. They couldn't honour the first one in full so they credited me my £2 but only off my next order. I thought "Well, stuff can go in and out of stock so I'll take it on the chin".
The order came and some of the stuff was damaged. I took this on the chin too as I suppose it could have been the couriers fault.
I then left it a few weeks and ordered some stuff for the disco for the pre school. Money is tight for them so we decided to spend over £30 so we could get the deal of 18x Cadbury TU bars for only £1 extra. Then out of nowhere, an email arrives saying that the "deal" part of the offer was out of stock and they would only credit me with the £1 spent. We were not allowed to cancel/amend the order and when it arrived, 6 items were smashed and had to be binned. When I explained to them that I "Had" to spend the £30 to get the deal and would "not" have spent the £30 otherwise, they (Kirsty) replied telling me I should have read the terms and conditions and that was that. We feel very harshly treated and would have expected some sort of exchange for the out of stock item. Secondly, failing that, we feel we should have been allowed to change our order as we really did not want to spend over £30 but had to to get the deal.
We feel cheated as its a cheap way to get a customer to spend £30 and once they have, take away the offer and offer nothing. Its a real shame because I was happy enough prior to all this, even with all the broken chocolate, broken cookies, open bags of crisps as you expect the odd problem but to be treated like this feels very bad. I could not recommend them after this and feel like I have cheated out of money via the "terms and conditions".
Overall, not a customer friendly company and not a happy experience.0 -
Me and my OH have ordered from approved food quite a few times, and we could not complain about them one bit.
When we moved to our flat in Feb we ordered a lot of cooking sauces, wraps and other such things and we ordered about £80 worth of stuff and it was packaged really well and all came fine, even if it did come in the biggest box I have seen.
Yes there is a lot of junk food, but it inevitably will be as they have a best before date rather than a use by, but they do do tinned stuff and jars of cooking sauces and drinks which are the majority of the time worth the money.
I will say if you are going to order do one big one rather than loads of smaller ones as you will save on postage.Joined April 2015 :j0 -

I have to agree too. I've ordered a couple of times before and been really happy with my bargains. Recently I got a free delivery code but having trawled the site, couldn't find anything I could use other than snacks and sweet foods. Their prices have risen so they are not cheaper than the pound stores or some supermarkets.
Got a 25% off code today but with £30 min spend, I'll pass on this. Shame. Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.
